I hope the new ui gets changed to look more old school. The current ui buttons feel very old school, but the ones in the blog don’t and I don’t really like the look of them. Excited about the additional features though!

Lmao I legit forgot. Thank you for your diligent work in memeology
Woah, all the way back to when I was doing the first zeah mapping rework. We've come so far :')
Oops, looks like I mapped down a tree from Crandor.
tbf if the stash does not stick out it would be frustrating to find it
Yep. Wanted to change them for a while but they certainly do a good job of standing out, the irony 😅 I have a zoo of every crate in-game and the various styles, so many crate styles and I might be guilty of 2 or 3 of them…
I suggest you take a look at Mod West's art and designs on Twitter for example. I feel like he has a good sense of taste considering the style of the game
I’m glad you like my stuff! We are an art team however and nothing gets though until we’re all happy with it :D This might look odd without the size context but this is honestly one of my personal favourites.
We don’t have a system that allows us multiple options for the head when equipping an item. It’s either we keep what you have hairstyle wise or we override it. Many of the hairstyles break (pig-tails being a main offender) through the mesh of the head item which means we generally resort to an override :(
Hopefully in the future we can get more options so we can preserve the hairstyle. I agree that it looks a lot better :)
It's actually doing both. The bottom moves counter while the top moves clockwise.
Source: I made it.
I really love the whalefalls.
I read about whalefall the week I was working on the art pre-production for the mini-game and had to find a way to work it in :D
Great colours :D
he really likes lazer beams lmao. mod west has the same problem.
D:
No I’m not. Mod West has been continually roasted by other mods and players for adding so much purple to the game. Needs more purple though.
I think it's more of a confirmation bias thing rather than a personal mission to add purple to every part of the game. I'm the longest standing artist at this point and perhaps interact with the community more than the others do so it gives the impression I'm behind all these purple additions.
Do I like the colour? Sure, but that's not the reason why we use specific colours. Colours are literally all we have when it comes to describing a surface material and they're also used to invoke certain emotions or tie specific themes together. Purple is associated with wealth , wisdom and royalty so it gets used for opulent areas (Verziks throne room) or places with a lot of magic (Dark Altar). It's also Zaros' main colour so if anything touches on that lore expect to see purple. That was the line of thinking with Camdozaal as we're insinuating a connection to the lost city of Lassar, a Zarosian stronghold. Perhaps we went a bit overboard in hindsight - next time we won't make purpl...
Read moreAww, so cute! I created the hat, the pet and the wand so this is pretty neat to see :3
Little bit sad to hear that as a mobile player...
It's a shame it'll be a while until mobile sees something like loot beams. I play a lot more on mobile than I use to and the need for them on that platform is a lot more obvious! It's certainly something I'm willing to push for when it comes to nice-to-haves for other platforms :)
Sorry about that! I certainly would've preferred for these to be in-game sooner but this was not a guarantee when I 'teased' them. It was a hot day and I had to hide in my room from the sun and ended up making some cool loot beams after getting inspired by the community.
I've always seen my twitter as a place to throw out ideas and gather feedback on potential updates. Sometimes my ideas go beyond just implementing graphics and there is pretty much no priority to get something in (as there are more important things to do first) that just looks cool. Now, if the assets were in the game, RL could access them and use them for the system that they've implement - this was my plan when realising we couldn't do it ourselves in a timely manner. The assets were in the League 3 dev stream and that was going out in a few months so I figured that was a reasonable time for them to become usable... then the delay happened.
Guess what happens tomorrow :D
So what are the chances of this getting into the game because we've seen many new skill proposals in this subreddit but we've yet to get a new skill since OSRS was released.
Btw I hope you have enough energy during the day, it's 4 a.m. in the UK, 3 when you posted
Mild insomnia ain’t fun, managed to fall asleep but running real low today, haha
Oh, and to answer your question… I really liked exploring as a concept too but feel it may not work as smoothly as the design implied. It’s been a while since we had a good look at the next skill but I believe it’s something we’re going to explore soon :)
Haha this is something we've considered. Skill names in OSRS are weird and don't follow consistent grammatical rules. Even "Runecrafting" is actually just "Runecraft," but using the verb form is so dominant and flows nicely with a lot of other skills (Mining, Smithing, Woodcutting, etc) that most people don't even realize it!
So we've settled on simple "Bard." Maybe not the most conducive to being verb-ified as Runecraft or Attack, but we wouldn't want to confuse it with real life barding!
I dunno man, horses ain’t real :P
I love this! Mod Dylan and I were talking about it the other month when discussing adding bards to pubs and Mod Nin has made something pretty cool which would help the tech side of things!
Funnily enough the spark for warding was from a book called ‘The Painted Man’. Suppose I should’ve been paying more attention to what Rojer was doing rather than Arlen…
Me.
Alright, Pootwoot - is Torva good art for Old School RuneScape?
A man paid me 100k up front to mine him 1000 iron in 2005. I mined it went to meet him he just logged and never came back online
A guy got me to run 1k iron to the bank and paid me 100k for it. Literally my first day of membership and I felt so rich.
Seems like unlocking cooking and Temp is going to be really popular
It was certainly how a lot of the early play-tests went!
