Just piping in here after searching for a resolution to this issue. PS4 Pro user here also experiencing the same issue. Usually happens during transition to replay after goal or transition back to play after replay. It hangs for 10-15 secs, latency spikes through the roof (I assume because the console isn't responding to the server) and sometimes times out. Usually I end up just missing a kick off. Sometimes happens when checking scoreboard as well, but I tend to check after goals are scored, so maybe that's just convenient timing.
I've also had it get hangy and freeze on the menu when quitting out of the match. Restarting the game fixes it, but it seems random what brings it back. Maybe a memory leak or something.
This is something we're still investigating, will update when I have something more concrete.
Are there any news regarding a fix to the PS4 & PS4 Pro version? Many users (me included) are suffering from huge ping spikes, consequent lag, freezes at the main menu and even the game crashing and redirecting us to PS4 home menu 🙁

Thanks for sharing this -- we've seen several reports of players with crashing issues on PS4, and we're actively looking into the problem.
Are you crashing to the RL main menu, or crashing out of the game to the PlayStation menu?
This is happening to me too, along with a teammate of mine – both on PS4 Pro. After a goal is scored, the game freezes for a couple of seconds. Unsure if it’s related, but for me (not my teammate), once this has happened a few times, the game crashes.
Thanks to you and /u/jules_lab for speaking up. We're diving into this now.

Read moreI have been having a similar issue on PS4 for the last couple weeks. For me it happens at least twice within a couple hours of playing, and the system completely freezes, only hearing the sounds of the exact thing that was happening when it froze and seeing that screen. It will unfreeze temporarily for me to play about 30-60 seconds and then happen again for about 5-10 seconds. While in a chat with my party they say that my ping rates are normal. If I continue to play after this happens the game will eventually freeze too long and the only way to exit is to enter the Playstation home screen and close the application and get the "application unexpextedly quit" message. Once rebooted the issue might not arise for several more games.
Side note, the other issue that I tend to have is the audio on Salty Shores is inconsistant, and occasionally just not there. I have all sound effects on by default, and the only difference in my settings aside from controls are colorblind mode ...
Sorry to hear about this issue, but this is not the same issue as the top of the thread. If you're freezing like that, I would recommend a reinstall of the game client.
Im on PC and Steam. Did a ping Test with Google and everything seems fine. Tried it a couple of hours later and still the same issue :(

/u/Psyonix_Devin I have rubberbanding like crazy after the update. Cant play properly. In other games I dont have any issues and my speedtest is totally fine as well.
I changed Legacy to STS and what not but nothing seems to be solving my problem. Do other players have the same issues as me?

Thanks for posting -- We currently do not offer cross-platform progression or accounts like this, so shifting the items over is not possible at this time. Sorry OP.
Bug or Glitch: A noticable framerate drop Everytime the whole playing field is visible. When the game/ball shifts to a corner the framerate picks up again. I tested other demanding games (like RDD2 in 4K) and there were no drops, so I don't think the thermals are the problem.

Thanks - this may be tied to what boosts are being used (Blast Ray, Slash Beam), or do you see drops even when no one else is on the field?
