wasn’t Varus looking for Valeeva? why did you swap her for Naafiri? Also, wasn’t the temple on Dark Kin the one where Myisha murdered the other darkin? Wouldn’t be safer to hide her somewhere else? Just make this clearer, is Naafiri a reborn version of Cebotaru or Valeeva?

I mean tons of stuff. I'm not the lead on Champs team anymore so Lexical is the main person making champ opportunity spaces, but I still had TONS of opportunity spaces in my head when I moved off the team :) Me and Lexical still talk about Champ Opportunity spaces all the time though, so maybe some of my ideas still make it through, lol :)

Currently Briar, Jax and the mid laner are still on track. The midlaner could possibly slip to next year but right now we feel pretty good about it still making it towards the end of this year. *crosses fingers because that champ is lit AF*

There's obviously huge buzz around this new game mode, and its something the casual community has been asking for for a long time. I get that the competitive Summoners Rift experience isn't for everybody, but does the SR team ever think of the possibility of game modes cannibalizing SR's player base?
At the beginning of Season 13 and with the huge disappointment surrounding the start of year cinematic, the community was very vocal about the perception that League of Legends as a whole is seeing less priority within Riot. I wanted to bring up the same conversation but direct it specifically to Summoners Rift. My reasoning for this mostly revolves around a couple of things, first, the reallocation of resources to rebuild the Modes department from a team (Champions) who I deem pivotal to League and its evolution. Second, the scope and innovation of pre-seasons a...
So I can't speak for what people did in the past, but I can say that I am personally a fan of taking big risks. I was the Lead producer on the old mid season class updates we did in the past, as well as the producer of many loved/hated champions in league (like Yuumi) I was also one of the producers of the Preseason where we added Dragon.
In general I like pushing the envelope rather then playing it safe, so I wouldn't expect to see a tame preseason this year :)

I was not. I stopped working on events when I took the gameplay lead position. The gamemodes team is on the gameplay initiative though, so I was very involved in the 2v2v2v2 game mode though!
This skin line will also be Naafiri's release skin right? The little glitch with the eye at the end of the teaser looks similar to the eye found on Naafiri's dagger, and they release the same patch
Oh yeah, and Naafiri is sooo fun in the game mode

Same. LoR has been great for reworking Champs looks in a much faster way then LoL can. Makes it easier for us for when we do get around to updating them in LoL
Oh I guess she counts since she is part of the Darkin lore? Then I hope we also get the "mandate" Darkin as a support champ so we can have a full 5 man team of Darkin in the future _^
Well think about which region her teasers have depicted, then think about which darkin short story took place in a temple in that region.
One last question: It's been 2 years since Yone, is there any plans for a new lore champion like Yone or Senna? I think Silco was also planned but didn't work out but I love lore champs so I hope we will get one in the future again
Naafiri is a lore champion, but yeah we still plan on doing more things like that in the future
I hope that you don't feel the need to abide by this rule every single times, tho. Design is hard and sometimes stuffs get delay. So it would be fine to not have any monster champ in 1 year if they are not ready
Yeah its not about per year or anything, we just want to make sure we arn't making the same types of champs over and over

Yes, the Champs team is interested in doing more VgUs, like Morgana, Ezreal, Jax in the future if the opportunity makes sense.

Hey Reav3, quick question. Real excited about the upcoming champs, but could you possibly say if we're still on track for a good split between Humans, Humanoids, and some Monsters sprinkled in? Bel'Veth, Vex, and soon Naafari have been super refreshing in recent years and I'd hate to see that backslid.
We are still targeting a good split, yes
I notice a few champions getting VUs that are more in line with their Legends of Runeterra counterparts. Is the LoL team looking at that and thinking "That's sick, we should put that in LoL" or is it more of a directed effort throughout all Riot Games?
Actually for Jax we reworked he visuals first on champions team, and we were going to ship it earlier. Then LoR built their look off our concept art, but then we had to delay the VgU for Jax due to losing some key animators on the team. LoR couldn't delay their release so theirs ended up releasing first. Then we just released the gameplay part of the update separately as Meddler mentioned and then given the pushback of Skarner we had that resources to also ship the visual side.
The Jax VgU was the "Secret" VgU I mentioned like 2 years ago in a champ roadmap
