Yes - they would dump on me. But it was never a situation where I couldn't even get 1 shot off. They would hs me, but I'd usually AT LEAST be able to 1-2 shot them even when I die. In Valorant, play against some random diamond kid and I'll hold an angle with an awp and just get strafe 1 tapped. So many times I'm dead without even being able to get ONE shot off.

And this isn't even to mention their notorious routing problems - zero issues with csgo in Chicago, get 30-40+ ping, contact Riot, provide all logs, they basically tell me try VPN. Use NordVPN, literally pick a server 30 miles away from my house and get 10 ping in game.

Valorant is definitely inconsistent and glitchy.

Which ISP and what is your location?

Talk to your ISP. Hop 2 worst is over 3000. Make sure you try this wired into your home router as well and replace the cable if you haven't just to rule out someone damaging it.

Can you send me a traceroute to 192.207.0.1? Verizon NJ is pretty good overall looking at our stats.

Often getting the white network symbol issue and in some games i get the red one and it lags (teleported, disconnexions)

I'd recommend opening a player support ticket to see if they can find something specific in your setup or at least something you can talk to your ISP about. They will ask for log files so they get more detail. SFR performance at aggregate looks good and with that ping there's a good chance it could be something in your setup that isn't playing nice with Valorant or your Internet service is playing up in some way. Are you able to run an extended trace using something like WinMTR to 162.249.72.1?

No packet loss but a lot of ping for being so close to Atlanta. My tracert shows me going to Austin TX before Atlanta, Chicago, or Dallas, which is confusing.

This is because Google Fiber do not have any infrastructure in Atlanta to connect to us with. Dallas is the closest point.

It helps a lot if you mention your ISP, location and the region you’re playing on. It’s a big Internet and we work with providers as we spot issues. Reporting issues with meaningful data helps us.

I have gig fiber with like 5 m/s ping to Denver, and typically Chicago and Dallas are both sub 30 ms.

When I play with my east coast friends we end up on VA servers and I have like 80+ ping, when in CS I can play VA servers with probably 35 to 40 ping.

I opened a ticket about it and the tech eventually just told me that my ISP needed to peer with Riot direct.

Obviously directly peering with another network will improve routing decisions and latency, but I don't have to f**king peer with any networks to play any other game and have amazing ping, so that seems like a bullshit cop out to me.

It's honestly pretty frustrating. Admittedly 45 ping isn't terrible, but playing with friends and getting 80, 90, or 100+ is kind of stupid.

Plus, I've already confirmed in many cases that I can flip on a VPN(I use PIA) and see lower pings. The issue is it isn't totally consi...

DM me your IP address and ISP details and I will see what we can do. Some ISPs are hard to get responses out of for our peering team. Have you also tried contacting your ISP support about performance to Valorant?

I've reached out to GCI to see what they can do with us to improve it.

You should be able to hit NorCal with a decent ping - at the very least in the practice range. Please post a traceroute to 192.207.0.1 and let me know which ISP you're using and what ping you're getting.

Should be resolved now. Do you have a ticket number you can send me so I can chase up why you didn't get responses?

It's difficult for me as even during these high ping times (80% of the time in the evening probably during peak traffic) I still get great download speeds and can stream netflix or 4k youtube videos no problem.

I'm continuing to work with them, but I'm also continuing the support ticket I have to see what you guys can figure out. I've also gone ahead and purchased a ubiquiti Edgerouter 4 so I can finally have top of the line hardware and rule out my home setup.

I have reached out to their engineering team to see if we can improve the route between our networks a little. Everything is going via Seattle today and we have some options in Denver that would make this more direct.

I cant do anything to make the jump from your house -> Tampa - > Houston - >Dallas any faster unfortunately. We're investigating options around closer server locations as a potential mitigation for this but I can't promise anything yet.
