In the letter we released with Smilegate RPG last week, we communicated some upcoming adjustments to honing materials, new events, and the start of Competitive Proving Grounds Season 1. These all arrive in this week’s update, releasing on March 24! Downtime will begin at 12AM PT (7AM UTC) on March 24, with an expected downtime of 8 hours. Below you can find a list of all the updates and fixes coming in this update.

We’re boosting rewards to include honing materials, so there will definitely be more goodies to snag

There are IP blocks in a number of regions that we do not have publishing rights for Lost Ark in; this means that players trying to connect from a region we do not support will not be able to access the game. While this is in part due to the fact that we do not have the rights to deliver Lost Ark to customers in these areas, we also expect these blocks to make it more difficult for botters to connect from other regions — this is not a solution to the problem with in-game bots and gold sellers, however, helps slow the issue.

No, using the Auction House to purchase a skin will not result in a ban

While it was originally scheduled for much earlier, the roadmap was pulled when we realized that we missed the mark with our first content update. This is why we are now making changes to it, and even if it had previously been released in full, we would still be in the same position we are now – reworking our plans based on feedback and progression info that we now have since the game is live

No frustration here, just answering straightforwardly. We are currently planning to include April and May content to share, which means it would be out before those updates (so, no exact timeframe right now since we aren’t locked, but the next couple of weeks seems realistic)

The week of March 21st was to refer to the next update that you’ll be seeing this week; the roadmap is being finalized after our week in-studio, and we’ll provide that update when we have it

I am circling back to this post because it is awesome and hits the nail on the head: Trading guardian raids / carries - #2 by Nookv1

“Metagaming” like this is fine so long as all of the trades happen strictly in-game and do not deal with any real-world trading. We don’t really encourage it since it can open up paths to scamming or potential RMT, but it is not against the rules

We have actually discussed the pros and cons of this a bit, so I’m definitely interested in hearing folks feedback on this topic!! One thing we want to make clear is that we don’t ever expect players to fix this for us – player reports are very valuable, and rewarding people that help out could be great, but we don’t want to create a situation where it looks like we are putting things onto our players to fix. Curious to hear thoughts about that as well!

These things will be coming, though I don’t have an ETA on when to share yet. We hinted at them in our Weekly Update - March 3 - News | Lost Ark - Free to Play MMO Action RPG post where we changed some of the T1/T2 Guardian difficulty.

To keep Achates challenging in Trial Guardian Raids, that encounter will not have these changes – but more on that in a future update!
