Yeah, they borked, and I apologize. We’re going to get another fix in place for this (third time’s the charm, right?)

I’ve been playing all night and haven’t on another US West server, but will keep an eye on this thread for more reports
While I do understand the desire for more serious costumes in an RPG, I think the world of Lost Ark in general is wacky and weird and sort of lends itself to the fun and silly – Tortoyk is one of the first few places you adventure to, and you literally shrink down to the size of a thimble and ride ladybugs around. While there are plenty of intense and serious moments in the game, there’s definitely room for both to coexist, and skins will be following that same pattern to some degree.
Strictly speaking, Smilegate RPG is still the primary developer of the game, which means they are responsible for the coding, builds, development, etc, etc, and Amazon Games is the publisher, which means we do things like Market, support Live Ops, Localize, more etc, etc. But, we are partners and we work together and in tandem, sharing feedback back and forth and working through things together
So, I was able to get clarity on this!
It is correct, you are not able to earn honing materials for a tier if you are not at that level (so 1302 for T3). Each tier is still respective to it’s item level requirement and this stands true for the pouches, leapstones, etc.
I understand the want to be able to stock up on items for the future, so I’ll pass the feedback along
We’ll have more details on the new plans coming next week, but I hear ya – regardless, this won’t be the only event to earn honing materials in, and we’ll have more opportunities and events that offer more honing mats as rewards in the future too
API has been discussed in the past, we aren’t hard locked into “no forever” but it’s not something we’re currently working on either.
There is a Creator Program kit that’s accessible to folks in that program (Creator Program | Lost Ark - Free to Play MMO Action RPG) but it doesn’t have all of the detailed pieces you’re looking for. Might be something we can look into further down the road!
Tailoring Books and Metallurgy Books will be added as rewards next week, but I’m going to double check on the item level restrictions for the current honing mats
Thanks for the quick replies! Going to sort this out and get an update
Weird question… what server are you on? I am looking into this now
I am dog water at mechanics in games (ok… probably actually just mediocre, but still) so after I managed to claw my way up the ranks in a MOBA and then quit because of the timesink, I realized PUGs stress me out so I have avoided them like the plague
I’ve been very tempted to try again it in Lost Ark, and honestly this thread makes me more excited to give it a shot Glad to hear about the (mostly) positive experiences
Luxark’s statement is right – “metagame” type of play like that is an emergent part of MMOs and is a-ok, so long as it all takes place within the game itself and there isn’t any scamming, RMT or otherwise real-world exchange going on.
With this patch there was some expectation that local DST settings might mess with the in-game clock itself, but it looks like something borked in this patch again Sorry about that, we have let the team know.
Locking this before it gets out of hand – for what it’s worth, it was only a matter of time before the folks that RMT’d would have been banned anyway.
Confirming that it will be next week’s update, so 3/24
Haha, unfortunately it’s not in tomorrow’s update plans – just what’s in the patch notes for tomorrow
You will be fine, so long as you did not purchase that gold from a 3rd party seller.
We are actively banning people who engage in RMT, buyers and sellers, which it sounds like you already experienced based off of what happened to those you were playing with.
Don’t RMT unless you want to have a bad time
We’re still having broader discussions about this and the effects other changes could have on different aspects of the game, but for now bringing lots more materials is something we can do nearly immediately to help players get to where they want to be.
