How else could we do cheese without animal husbandry? :D

Oh yeah, definitely all your fault. You had a bandage on your arm, snored intermittently, and I'm pretty sure I saw an otter under your robe and wizard's hat.

Can't be me, I normally play a Paladin! :D

Very nice and succinct explanation! Thank you!

I stick with my false ceilings though - they're a nice place to hide ugly equipment that you don't need direct access to.

Oh yeh, just saying you can do it without having a flat roof from the inside by just making it double-width.

I guess what I’m asking is can you give me an example; what you gave me is more of a statement that says hey people might have different ideas about economy where as what I’m asking is can you provide an example of a conflicting idea.

Are there legitimate debates to be had? If the question is; “should you be punished for littering” then that isn’t really a debate anyone who is against that is more or less griefing based on the nature of the game.

Separately it seems that If there is conflict that is resolved through voting and majority wins is that correct ?

Side note: I can tell this game and it’s devs have a strong philosophy around pvp and weapons, and I get the vibe that they are not interested in changing that so this isn’t about wanting guns in the game.

If the game is meant to be a totally cooperative experience then so be it. I’m just curious because I see so...

I mentioned that because of, for example taxes. Reaching the end goal on a server that has sufficient difficulty for the players that play on it will need funding and a working economic concept. People have different opinions on that, and believe me or not, there is a strict split between americans and eu people on the matter of taxes that I can proof with three years of experience on the biggest Eco server being nearly split equally between these culture zones. It's not a secret to say that the majority of americans playing have a 'little regulation, more self-responsibility' approach while the majority of EU players have a 'more regulation, strong government' approach. To be very clear: Not all. There is lots of individuality on top with people being having completely different approaches as well, but it's clashing based on what you might see as a stereotype much too often to be coincidence. And both approaches affect your gameplay as player without an office massively, depending...

Imagine a server with half american population and half EU population. The server needs to establish an economy and rules for their society. Do I need to say anything more?

Different cultures have different approaches and each individual has as well. It's heated debates, sometimes hurt feelings and sometimes it goes just too far as well. You will need to from nothing create a society of people with different opinions and cultures. That is hard enough for some people to rather leave than be bothered by it.

Weapons on the other hand would just make the person with the biggest gun win and remove all debate, economy or legislation from the game. Cause why talk? You can just shoot. IRL there is hesitation to resolve problems like that, ingame there typically isnt.

If you're interested and already got the game, play a cycle on White-Tiger, try to become Senator and see live what I mean. *g*

As an update it seems that no matter who hosts I will have 350+ ping and if I host others will have 200+, so I guess this game just doesn't like my connection. I do have strict nat (that I cannot fix cause I cannot open ports on my provider) but usually only have 40-50 ping when playing games hosted by the same people.

Mh, if it really happens on all servers and you're not affected by relay, I guess there is some weird routing happening on ISP side. There really is nothing that could make the game 'not like your connection'.

Stockpiles can also negatively affect the tier. When I build from inside I have a stockpile with building materials and it lowers the tier of the room.

So, remove inside stockpiles and check all corners and edges so you don't have any empty spaces there and no dirt/sand/stone anywhere.

Yes, contents of stockpiles count as well.

I've found that 90% of the time, a user has left "air" as the upper corner edge somewhere. It does put limitations on how you can build roofs and ceilings. If I want an interesting roof, I'll usually put in a false ceiling to keep the room tier higher.

Yes, if there is air (tier 0 technically) diagonally, it counts as tier 0.

x being the block, o air. This has outside connection, so reducing tier.

would work.

I didn't respond to your, but to Bronyards comment who said

perhaps some specific world seeds have very little ore or maybe it failed to spawn in most areas.. On every server ive been to there hasnt been any issues..

That, as far as our investigation goes, isn't the case. Any world sent to us with difficulties and where people thought there is no ore, had ore and enough of it.

You can still send us such worlds, we take a look at if there is ore, but you can also make a backup and go with the removeallbut commands or just level.

Additionally an block of water at that next level will register as salt water, rivers, lakes, meteorite craters, underground tunnels all will turn to salt and cause follow on effects in world raising sea level does a check for water blocks irregardless of the organic "ocean" bodies.

Indeed.

If you place blocks (x's) and have empty space (o's) like this - the game considers you have a hole.

Indeed, thats why until this is reworked (which we plan, but is not a bug, as working as intended in code) flat roofs or double width roofs are recommended.

First, this isn't harassment, just because it isn't nice, so the report wasn't warranted.

Second, I guess the question is to me. We explicitly allow and endorse these posts under the condition they may only contain the server name, but no other info of a server advert. Their main purpose is storytelling, not advertising. That is creative, takes effort and is enhancing the community. I don't see a reason why we should ban these posts - any admin can come up with creativeness like this as well. The main goal was to get rid of the flood of server ad threads - you still can make a topic as a player to search a server or do creative storytelling like this. Just the simple ads go to the ad topic.

I hope it's not me that commanded that. I can't remember. Was I asleep? Hope it's a different Dennis. Did the otters control me again? Is it the fever of the second shot over the last days? Help!

We actually considered this a while back but came to the conclusion it would need a overhaul of the inventory system to not be added tediousness without good reasoning. So far we got no plans, but that may change.
