The cause for this has been fixed long ago, there was a related issue lately that was also fixed, but a similar one seems to persist for a few people without us being able to reproduce.

You can help identifiying your specific issue by providing your client logsfiles and / or relevant data from the Windows Event Log in case of the game not closing to [email protected]: https://github.com/StrangeLoopGames/EcoIssues/wiki/Getting-the-Eco-game-log-file

What is the exact error you are getting, "Our auth servers may be down"? In that case make sure to check any security software, firewalls and your ISP and make sure Eco is exempted, something is blocking the connection to the authentication server.

Hey Citizens,
we have just released Update 9.7.6 addressing a few issues that were reported with our last release:

UI
  • Fixed: Some map icons didn't show their tooltips for some players.

World Objects
  • Fixed: On migrated worlds some tree branches were displayed wrongly or missing.

Miscellaneous
  • Fixed: In specific circumstances the tutorial could lead to a server crash.
  • Fixed: A very rare issue that could cause an invalid state in the savegame, leading to the server becoming unresponsible whenever someone tried to mine.

I had asked colleagues to look into that but we were somehow unable to reproduce or notice what you are noticing. We found one single occasion of any such movement when head bobbing is off and that is on ramps and will be fixed. We were not able to notice any such movement during normal conditions. Either we are unable to notice what you do, don't understand what you mean exactly or are not bothered by it and can't realize it as what it is.

It would be helpful if someone could do a video of what they see and do a intensive description on what behaviour exactly is causing the issues for you. Maybe get a friend that is not affected to do the video, so you aren't triggered and have them do the things that cause the sickness in a very intensively showing way. That's so far the only thing I could see helping us out.

We did remove Global Illumination in 9.7.0, as the implementation was very old and pretty broken - given that changes lighting quite a bit, it might be that difference you've seen as well if you had that turned on before. It's coming back later with a better one.

Depends. Trees that are farther away now show with less detail (LOD), which is a normal technique to reduce performance impact, so those are indeed lower quality based on distance, but that is on purpose.

There has not been any changes to sunlight, but Eco also never used Raytracing.

For clouds I'm not aware of any intentional changes, but those are getting reworked for 10.

Dear Eco Citizens,
we are happy to announce that Update 9.7.5, the second part of our 9.7 Performance Update series is now available. Thanks to our wonderful community, especially all players helping us with performance diagnostics and testing this release on official server White Tiger, we are confident that we were able to address most causes for FPS drops over time in Eco.

Starting with this update you should no longer need to restart the game after longer play sessions to restore your FPS. Naturally, our playtests cannot test every single possible hardware and settings configuration, so your feedback will be key going forward to fix any potentially remaining issues.

There will be a third update in the series expanding on the improvements already made in the new year and we'll soon be ready for more news on Update 10 as well. For now, all that is left for us to say is a big thank you from the whole Strange Loop Games team for your support during this year - we ... Read more

In vanilla you can only throw it on the ground, as any other objects.

//EDIT: I try to sneak in a recipe for it for fertilizer next update.

That happens when the server isn't shut down gracefully, it cannot save the world then and will use the head backup made a few minutes before.

Yes, there is a trigger for that. Would suggest to ask in #law-help on https://discord.gg/eco, there are the experts.

That list is not public, sorry. If you happen to start another server I can check both if any content in it is on the list or if there is other reasons by knowing ID / IP while it runs. Can DM me here or on Discord with that info.

It looked like you have the issue on multiple hosts - in that case a potential issue could be that your server contained things in its name or description that gets filtered by the master server, due to violating our ToS. If such stuff is in there, the server will be delisted.

If it was a thing only on one host, that's very unlikely of course. To further diagnose I do need a running server and it's IP / ID though, otherwise I cannot check what we got on the master server.

When you try to join the game, an error will be presented as of your own words - what does it say exactly, it typically also has a log attached that you can copy with the button.
