Your concept of bad isnt relevant.

The only way we will know if plat is average or not, (or way above average) is numbers that Respawn will need to provide us.

Doing math in these scenarios is usually filled with horrible assumptions.

What numbers do you need? The RP system works exactly as shown in game, and you’re matched based on it.

Is loot distribution also determined by the number of players landing in a given location? It feels like skulltown loot is crazy when multiple groups land there and less than lackluster if it’s just 1 or 2 squads.

Nope, loot is determined before players even drop

Something like a "players met" list from the game you just played would be nice for the situations where you can't spectate the person to report them in-game.

Not currently, but I'll see what we can do

Generally, players will do whatever they can to gain advantage. If their actions can influence, for example, the contents of a loot bin, they'll do so. e.g. if a lot bin was more likely to contain armor if you don't have any armor, some players would start removing their grey/blue armor before opening loot bins.

u/Scriptacus: I read that loot distribution is different when we're not playing with a full squad. Is it true? Does it apply only to 1+1+1 matches or also to 2+1 ones?

Thanks a lot!

EDIT: So... Are loot distributed according to a fixed percentage or according to probabilities?

I guess what I'm asking is... Are we guaranteed to have at least one of each item during a match? cc u/Scriptacus

Loot distribution does not dynamically change.

I've been through two full buildings and not found even a Mozzy. But I have found a stack of Heavy ammo, a helmet, 2 white stocks, a white light magazine, a white Shotgun stock, a white energy magazine, two stacks of shotgun ammo and a frag grenade.

I'll see if we can't do some regression testing with the spawn rates, but overall the distribution hasn't changed to my knowledge. The loot system weights spawns by loot category (weapons are a separate category); adding a new item to a category changes the distribution only within that category. (e.g. if we added a new grenade without touching the weights of the existing grenades the only effect across all loot in the match would be that those other grenades spawn less frequently to make room for the new one)

  1. If i somehow manage to spectate the cheater, its very easy to report that person for cheating ingame. If my own teammate is cheating however, there is no correct option to report them for cheating. Only options like harassment/spam, and i have to view their profile and report them through the overlay. Can we get a way to report ingame similar to reporting people we spectate.

  2. Loot distribution. Im not calling for disruptor rarity changes or anything like that, but with all these new attachments that have been added, it feels like the distribution was overlooked. Several times a day i can run through one wing of skulltown (like 8 buildings) and not find a single weapon. Ill have loads of shields/meds or hopups/attatchments, but guns just seem rarer than they should be. I dont mind a bit of rng when i drop in a hotzone, but its pretty bad atm.

I'll add cheating to the teammate report list on monday

Do you recall which legend you were playing when the error occurred?

If it was a small difference I would agree but its like night and day.

I would appreciate it if you get get proof that the loot tables are not either bugged or intentionally different.

Everyone I have talked to in matches has said the same thing that ranked loot is beyond horrid.

I make the game. :). The script that populates loot doesn't support being different for ranked. It could with not to much effort, but it currently doesn't. That makes it pretty improbable that ranked and unranked have different loot. I'll double check it on Monday when I'm back at the office, but I'm fairly certain I know what I'm going to find.

If you can follow up, how are you determining where the match is hosted?

I also saw some comments saying that selecting the datacenter doesn't do much because when enter/finish a match it just changes automatically. Is this information false then?

The "best" datacenter should already be selected. Generally that will be the one with the lowest ping, but packet loss factors in as well. AFAIK once you're in the lobby and playing matches, we don't transfer you between datacenters.

Not to mention the countless other issues before this patch that were broken are frustratingly being ignored(Party not ready lobby bug/Pathfinder hitbox)

if every person mad at the current state of this game right now took action and stopped playing, this game woulld be dead.

Official? No, that's just my personal response to someone who thinks that it's okay to insult their own community and the developers. Maybe I should be more thick skinned, but seeing the community accused of "brown nosing" and the team called "lazy and full of sh*t" doesn't sit well with me, and I honestly don't understand how anyone could expect doing so to have a positive result. I guess maybe sometimes people just need to vent. To that end, my apologies to you and to /u/GachiPls_DidntSave for your frustration.

Not sure. We do have a patch coming out this week that might resolve it. I've filed a ticket with one of our engineers with your crash dump just in case.

It is universal to all guns, the "heavy ammo only" thing is a myth.

Correct. The point of the feature is more about making sure players give a fair shot to their squad. In that implementation of the feature, that doesn't include being required to wait for a possible banner recovery or respawn. There are a number of issues with doing so that aren't easy solves (e.g. *accurately* detecting if your squad mates have any intention of recovering your banner in the first place) and the payoff isn't objectively worth it... you can still end up with players forced to sit around for 90 seconds while their teammates fail at recovery. Right now, once you're dead, your obligation ends.
