To further explain and repeat what was said elsewhere, its very easy to find a picture of something cool as well as a wiki page and then say "why cant/haven't you implement it?"

For a vehicle to be added, the model artists need reference photos, drawings, blueprints, images and dimensions just to begin. Then there is a need for historical sources, performance, armor, weaponry, capabilities all backed up by credible material, not just a singular website or wiki. Lots of vehicles are indeed in existence that would make for very interesting event vehicles, but then there is the consideration of are they actually viable to implement? Can all the material actually be found and located?

The other thing to consider is as we have already said, a nation like France or Italy does not have the near infinite number of vehicles that can actually be added to the game. Speaking realistically about machines that actually existed i...

Thats not how these are though. You are earning a reward tank independent of any nation that a player of any rank from 2+ can achieve. Your comparison is assuming you are already at Rank VI/VII and simply researching another tree vehicle, which is not at all whats happening here. Its never going to be the same as just researching something of the same rank.

Merkava is a rare reward vehicle. These types of vehicles are never going to be "easy" to obtain and that is indeed intentional both from the perspective of that A) They are intended to be rare and not in every single garage and B) They are unique and interesting vehicles for dedicated players and those with the time to achieve them.

Once again, the event has been refined over time and feedback has been implemented. But specifically what you are referring too here is you disagree with the amount of time required to obtain he vehicle f...

As I said previously, comparing them to the original crafting events shows lots of the changes.

The website article now contains all the relevant information up front, fully explained in a more optimized and refined way thats more clear and digestible. A full video tutorial before the event starts, interface improvements as well as the refinement of several key components of the event from a structural point of view

Im not exactly sure what you referring too here, as I was talking about the end of WW2 / Victory day event with 3 very simple tasks and rewards on offer: https://warthunder.com/en/news/6703-event-winner-vehicles-for-the-victory-anniversary-en

We make these events based on those players who do play for such periods of time per day. There are those that do have the time to play and want more challenges, tasks, rewards and things to work towards besides their normal research.

Nobody is asking anyone to risk their own health. These larger events are not for everyone and as we have made clear in the past aimed at those that do have the time and do partake as they do with each event.

We have events of smaller scales with scaled rewards as such. For those that dont have the time to participate in events such as this one, we have smaller events like the previously mentioned Hurricane event last week, or the end of WW2 event where 3 very easy vehicles were on offer or the rolling squadron vehicles being added periodically that can be collected.

We do indeed take feedback into account with events and thats clear when you compar...

Merkava is a Rank VII MBT reward tank. In perspective, consider the time it would take to research your way to a Rank VII MBT on a new tree for example. The difference being here is you are free to play any nation you want from Rank 2+ without restrictions on RP efficiency multipliers or penalties.

The time required in general in this event is hardly different to other events including the marathon events if you were going for the top tier vehicle in some cases. Events are challenging task with valuable rewards. Its never going to be easy to get a free Rank VII MBT, particularly one as effective as Merkava 3D. Of course its going to require considerable time to earn it.

This tank is also a higher rank and of much higher callability than the Object. As well as that, for those that are not interested, there is also the German halftrack on offer.

If you do...

If your not at all interested in the vehicles on offer you can simply play and then sell any unwanted parts. With a couple of hours play per day you can easily get a premium with the parts exchanged on the market.

Guys, just to remind everyone, we have a dedicated ground forces area where you can discuss shells, tank vs tank comparisons and future and desired vehicles in: https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/forum/494-ground-forces-discussion/

Please do not keep taking this topic off subject when none of it has any relevance and clogs the thread for others.

We have indeed. Most recently with the Freccia. A very nice ship for sure.

Its also important not to mistake a temporary burst of people playing an event vehicle they just got for long term meaningful popularity increases. Changes such as the more recent addition of several M4 family variants as well as the M18 did more to boost Italy than that.

Other nations also get event vehicles over the year too. Its not a lie that the smaller nations do indeed have smaller vehicle pools available to them in terms of overall content to add, let alone also taking from that for event vehicles, but even then every nation has had at least 2 event vehicles over the last year (excluding China and Sweden).

Events are also supposed to distribute interesting and popular machines that the largest amount of people actually want wherever those vehicles will be. Vehicles like the Merkava are some of the most popular event vehicles we have, so its a logical choice for example over something that probably only a couple of hundred people have even heard of and those that dont either wont bother or maybe just for collectors.

We have events all year round of different sizes and scales. Im sure the Battle of Britain event with a Hurricane up for grabs was mor...

This is exactly the point. We are indeed adding vehicles for all nations in events, as you rightly pointed out with the AUBL and Freccia. The point was, nations such as Italy are never going to have the same amount of event vehicles as a nation like the USA. Most of Italy's vehicles are far more valuable for the main tree where the USA is now at a stage in the opposite situation and with a much larger pool of possible event vehicles to choose from.

But its worth pointing out, adding all the AUBL and Freccia's in the world are not suddenly going to make Italy more popular than for example the UK tree overnight. Event vehicles are limited time collectables. Players that join after them or those that dont take part likely wouldn't get them except for a post event market purchase, so they have hardly any impact on the "popularity" of a nation.

Britain has had several event vehicles in the l...

This discussion has nothing to do with this topic at all. If you want to discuss Italian Ground Forces, please do so in the Italian Ground Forces topic. Merkava Mk 3 is not going to suddenly negate the entire Italian tree or its top tier at all.

Italy remains one of the most competitive nations in ground forces in several areas. The Merkava won't change that.

We do also have event vehicles around the year for other nations too. Britain for example is not that far behind in terms of numbers what the USA, USSR and Germany has had over the past couple of years.

The issues surrounding the other nations such as Italy, France, Japan, Sweden and even more so China is they have a much more finite pool of vehicles to add anyway, let alone for event vehicles. Every one we add as an event vehicle takes away the possibility of it being a researchable one, regular premium or store premiums that are more readily and widely available than event vehicles.

Often a prototype or short run examples are produced that are often more useful and productive to go into the main tree, then other times, people find exceptionally obscure examples that would theoretically be great for events, but then it turns out next to no information is available to model, create and replicate them in game.

Israeli vehicles have never just been in the British tree. France had the IDF/AF Vautour one patch later from when the Shot Kal was introduced.

Nations without a full tree have their vehicles distributed to the closest and most logical connecting tree on a vehicle by vehicle basis. As was the case with the C2 MEXAS.
