There’s a known issue there, where in some cases computers on the same local network are not able to connect using the external ip, but can when using the local ip (that means “using direct connect”)

Since port forwarding does not see to work for you, could you give me the exact name/model of your router, and which ISP/country you are are using?

First, one important thing: If you don’t get the green light, don’t even bother continuing: The server will not be usable.

Second, if you are planning to use the Conan Exiles game client on the same machine, then you will have...

As @drachenfeles said, these are not errors, they are statistics sent to a monitoring server which checks which servers are running, with how many players, and the associated memory/cpu usage.

This is used to figure out if for example a code change in a new version ...

Is is the Server Log content displayed in the Launcher for your comfort, it’s not generated by the Launcher, it’s just the content of what is in the Saved/Log folder.

For the ones among you using version 1.3.1, do you think it is good enough to be the new official version as a replacement for 1.2.5

Sorry, I can’t answer to any question related to game messages, this is for the Conan Exiles support team, this forum thread is exclusively for Dedicated Server Launcher related questions.

SteamCMD error Question for you people. :bulb:

There’s been an issue in this tool where sometimes it would fail with an error message:

‘\src\common\contentmanifest.cpp (650) : Assertion Failed: !m_bIsFinalized’

at this point SteamCMD stops updating, it just output errors after errors, until it gets reinstalled or some manual cleaning/deleting of files like the appmanifest for the project. :sob:

I know it has happened to me once last year, and also to @Nahso, ...

Good, sorry for the confusion

I apologize for the late reply, long story short, I was able to launch & run the server in the laptop after checking the tooltip of the launcher (I was port forwarding only UDP :o), but on the desktop PC, it was still all red.
It was the same even after disabling Windows Firewall, but somehow subscribing to Norton and changing firewall setting there did the trick. Now it is clear and all green.

Ok...

Still no solution on my side, that being said (crossing fingers) it has not happened to me this year.

Ok, could you try to get me two server log files showing the issue:

  • First one with the server without any mod until the moment it appears on the client server list
  • Then a second one, with the same server with just one small mod, waiting for about the same amount of time

basically something we can use to do comparisons between the two situations.

Well, the main issue there is that your first message did not clearly state that:

Anyone know if you can set this up on a server that is already functioning, because I have tried so many ways to get this thing to work and at present it does nothing, it will not find the server, it will not connect to the server and it’s just driving me nuts.

The way I was reading it was that:

  • You already had a server running, using some other tool, script or whatever, on some mach...

Thanks, I took a look at the link, some of these were already flagged as “log spam” and may be fixed in future updates, but I can’t really tell you anything regarding if these errors are actually causing issues or not.

Just a minor release to fix the issue found by @mogeizo

1.3.1 (1 october 2020)

  • Fixed a bug introduced in version 1.2.5 with the “Test Port Accessibility” showing grey instead of red lights for errors.
    Dedicated Server Launcher 1.3.1

Here is what the port testing is supposed to look like when it fails:

Damn, that’s a bug, just tested, I broke something, the test itself is valid, the error message is valid, but it was supposed to be:

  • Grey: Untested
  • Green: Tested and working
  • Red: Tested and not working

but yeah, if you did not have green, it means it’s not open.
The RCon port is not tested because it does not have to be port forwarded, you can if you want to RCon from another machine, but technically just having it working locally is good enough - at least if you want the server launcher to be able to send messages to the server -

Regarding “Can only connect using local IP” when using a computer on the same network

That’s unfortunately not my domain (I’m not a part of the Exiles team), what I could suggest is for all the people who encountered this particular issue to use a single forum post regarding the issue, and post details about your setup (wired or wifi network, model of router, use of multihome or not, ports used, etc…) so the dev team gets all the reports on the same place.

I was told the issue existed but was not widely happening, but there seem to be quite many people impacted by that, so the more information they can get, the be...
