Hey there, thank you for your feedback on the profanity filter.

However, as per general Ubisoft policy, this filter will stay in place.

Thank you for understanding,
Ubi-Thorlof

There was a connection to a different issue requiring more testing. Therefore it unfortunately did not make it into the upcoming patch.

Will be addressed in the next Game Update.

Hey BenBezig,

sorry to hear you're facing issues with Anno 1800.
However, neither is the Ubisoft Support able to access your PC nor are they able to "mess" with your game. This is simply not technically possible.

You might have accidentally clicked on something on your PC during the chat.
In the game, thanks to the Research Institute from the "Land of Lions" DLC you can manually change the ore of mines (e.g. iron ore to coal). You can also determine where your ships are entering a session when setting up a trade route to e.g. avoid them going right past a pirate hideout.

Scope-wise it'll be similar to previous Cosmetic DLC, so between 20-30 ornaments total for the pack.

No, not in the way the system is set up at the moment. The ornaments come in different sizes and look completely different, so it wouldn't be possible to just rotate through the 4 seasons anyway.

That aside, the release is, as announced, in less than two weeks and the content is finished, it's not possible to touch any of the ornaments anymore until release.

It will offer several new decorative ornaments for each of the 4 seasons.

I hope this seasons pack includes a new seasons visual mechanic + automatically-changing decorations. IMO DLC like the Christmas pack ended up too fussy to use on a regular basis, and I'd think the same would ring true for other seasonal decorations.

I don't think this is out of the scope of possibility as it could utilize a similar day night-cycle system but use effects like snow (already in-game) instead + changing foliage colors.

Likewise, the automatically-changing building mechanic was already present in a few buildings like the marketplace, since these buildings would get a holiday skin on Christmas.

This is, unfortunately definitely out of scope for a Cosmetic DLC.

The "Seasonal Decorations Pack" will offer, true to its name, decorative ornaments for each season.

You've most likely used a different account when you activated & played the game for the first time.
If you don't remember it anymore, I'd recommend getting in touch with the Ubisoft Support: https://support.ubisoft.com/contact

You had me in the first half.... ๐Ÿ˜‰

We love reading these kind of stories, extremely happy you're enjoying your (maybe slightly excessive?) dive into Anno 1800! Hope you'll have fun for many more hours.

For me, the Pear Farm is in the "Coastal Buildings" category, could you have a look if it's present for you?

Happy to hear you're enjoying the game!

In the period and setting of Anno 1800 there's a lot of room for all kinds of stories and places to explore. Unfortunately, we won't be able to cover them all and for now there are no plans to add additional regions to the game, which therefore also excludes places inspired by India, Thailand, China etc., but also Australia or the US.

That said, the team has had a lot of fun each time diving into the research for each region in the game, be it on a narrative or a visual level and for potential future projects, there are certainly some regions we would love to explore.

You guys always talk in riddles๐Ÿ˜€

It was part of the job description ๐Ÿ˜‰

We'll have news in late March, so still about 2 months of waiting, I'm afraid.

Hey Queglar - first of all: Thank you for this incredibly detailed and thought-out feedback.

There's no doubt that improvements could be made to the current system by addressing some of the points you made like providing more options where and how to use items in the game (your first 6 points).
Especially now, in its fourth Season, some systems are not working in the same way anymore - from a Design perspective - to how they did on release and without all the DLC. You for example mentioned the expeditions, which lose usefulness when the "Land of Lions" DLC with the Research Institute is activated. Without that DLC, however, they're still a big source for items (also in early game) and then lose relevance in late-game. That is okay, generally, not all systems have to have the same impact early on as they have after 60h or more of playtime.

While the topic of items will have to be discussed again for any potential future project (where feedback like yours would ...

Thank you for your wishes on the upcoming Season 4 ๐Ÿ™‚

As you might imagine, the rough designs for the individual DLC are already done to a certain degree, but especially for the last one there's still some room.
Looking at a few threads on the topic of S4, I believe some of your ideas are also part of our plans and then we got a few more surprises in the mix ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey there, thank you for your suggestions.

While we can certainly into make some more adjustments here and there, we are currently not planning to adjust existing models or do major changes to main parts of the game system this late after release (e.g. on the topic of rivers). Even adjustments on a visual layer (and you mentioned a few points which are not purely aesthetic anymore) can be risky and work-intensive and in many cases we believe putting our resources into things with a larger gameplay impact provides a greater benefit to our playerbase.

I know it's two different studios, but whenever I talk to Germans they don't have a sense of "we are Germans from Germany", but rather "you're from Berlin? Oh, I'm from Munch."

...awkward silence

Oh, yeah, definitely! Historically, Germany has been divided into many small states for hundreds of years that loosely worked together (e.g. as part of the Holy Roman Empire or the German Confederation) - each region with their own customs, own dialect etc. So, to some degree, this has translated into modern Germany.

They currently have 7 games where the 6th ( rise of an empire) is my personal favorite and they are curenly preparing an open beta for the 8th game. If you're interested in a game like anno on a smaller scale you should check them out! I recommend the history editions of the games because they're the remastered versions with fancier graphics.

Correction: The Settlers is not (and has never been) developed by us at Ubisoft Mainz but by Ubisoft Dรผsseldorf. The two studios have always had their own brands (Anno and The Settlers).

Otherwise: Yeah, The Settlers offers a smaller scale. Though maybe not quite as small as Lorelei was talking about. I think /u/MelonsInSpace's suggestion about The Guild is a good one here.

For Anno, however, we'll most likely stick to the current scale for future projects.

Hey velsarius,

thank you for your suggestion! There are already a few items increasing the range of public buildings, however by smaller percentages.
Do you consider these current bonuses too small, since you mention rather strong increases by 50% or even 100%?
