We stopped playing two years ago for constant issues in multiplayer.

Now we picked up the DLC in hopes that things have gotten better.

This is not looking good. We have 3 hours left at the most, since we have to work in the morning. Pretty disappointed and kinda regretting getting the DLCs.

I couldn't tell you since it's not handled by us.

But it seems they've run into some problems during the maintenance cause it has been extended multiple times. New ETA is 10 PM CET.

Sorry, that the maintenance crossed your evening plans.

Two entirely separate things.

The server maintenance has nothing to do with the update, but is a general Ubisoft server maintenance affecting (amongst other games) Anno and was supposed to last till 6 PM CET (coinciding with the release of GU 13)

The good news: This should get fixed with tomorrow's update.

Warm & soapy money-showers for everyone!

Available for 2,99€ (or your regional equivalent) this CDLC adds a new tree ornament to your game which is based on the Ceira tree you can also find on the island of La Xultuna. We are not making any money from this DLC: From each purchase, all net proceeds (that means after any fees or taxes are deducted) are going to Ecologi (at least $1/1€/1£ per purchase).

Beautifully written, thank you

Which is funny, since we were only "Blue Byte" for about 5 years. "Related Designs" until 2014 and "Ubisoft Mainz" since 2019.

The original "Blue Byte" studio is the one in Düsseldorf.

Interesting...yes.

"they do these things on purpose to mess with us" - sums it up quite nicely, yeah

But again. Top notch, the screencaps look amazing. I can't wait to restart (again) and build the absolute perfect town.

Edit: I realise this looks like I didn't really read your comment, what I meant was if a cosmetic pack was to come out mainly adjusting DLC items, how would it he distributed? A Vibrantier City Pack? Or a title update further down the line? Or possibly (but pls no) twitch drops? It would be an interesting challenge.

That's a great question, to which I don't have an answer right now.

We will first have to look at the success of this Cosmetic DLC and the reactions (so far they seem to be VERY positive) before determining any future additions.

Heya, while we love your creativity and generally all the ideas for potential content you all come up with, we also learned that you seem to appreciate our transparency, so:

We're not planning to cover a period like WW1 in our game.

Additionally, this would very much implicate land warfare of sorts (understandable given the scenario), which we are also not planning to add to Anno 1800 (ruled out before release).

Warfare focused on ships and within the setting of the game is a different matter, even though from our experience and data we have, there's also a big part of our player base which is not interested in conflict.

Can't talk about possible technical constraints, but even if it was possible, for Game Update 13 we won't be able to implement this as a "Christmas present". In the weeks before each update, we enter first a bug fixing and polishing and then a validation period, during which we are not adding anything new anymore.

No, all our Cosmetic DLC intend to be purely ornamental and will add new gameplay features or change existing ones. No matter the variant of the Market Place chosen, it will always fulfill the job of the Market Place only.

Wow. They look amazing! I absolutely love the late 1800 early 1900's markets. Reminds me of the Queen Vic market here in Melbourne.

As others have echoed in this thread, and I understand it's DLC, but will there be any chance for a set of hotel skins to mix them up a bit? Hotel with Neons? Old boutique brick hotel?

Much love guys and thanks for keeping up with the amazing release schedule and amazing game!

Our main focus for Cosmetic DLC will be on content for the base game, so that it's useful for all of our players.

There certainly are several more possibilites for building skins or model variations, like e.g. public buildings etc., agreed.

I wonder though how are you able to switch between these styles? Can you change every single building or do you select a style and all buildings of that type will change at once? If you could change every single building individually that would be insane, no city would look like the same, so much variation!

You can, indeed, select the look for each residence building individually.

This should be fixed now, please let us know should you still encounter issues.

The issue should be fixed now, could you try verifying the game files and then checking again?
There should be one for the Ship of the Line and one for the Battle Cruiser.

Maybe it's time to restart development of Settlers 🙂

Just to clarify: We're not working on The Settlers, never have. That game is developed by a different Ubisoft studio (as it has always been the case) and what we are doing or not doing has no impact on the projects of our colleagues in Düsseldorf and vice-versa.

And I think the Circus performed rather badly in the last two votings, it does not seem to be a community favourite 😉

Considering the Circus theme has performed poorly in both previous community votes, it's unlikely we would add it to a future voting, should we end of doing another one 🙂

We will of course let our community know in time how the future of Anno looks like - no matter if we're going to develop more content or end the postlaunch support for Anno 1800.

That thread is correct, we gave away the Open Beta reward. But as I stated above, there was also a reward for participating in the Closed Beta, and that one has not been made publicly available, to my knowledge.
We gave away the Twitch Drops of the first Season, but not the ones for Season 2 and Season 3.

There is a special ornament as well as company logos when buying the History Collection (or some of those when only getting one of the individual History Editions).

Overall, autumn was a more quiet period when a lot of work was put into the content for the end of the year, especially the new game mode based on the Green Game Jam.
There are still a few weeks to go till the release - but no worries, we'll have some first news on Thursday and the DevBlogs for the upcoming content will follow in the next weeks.
