To enhance the Discover experience, we are experimenting with a new variable in the algorithm that populates the ‘New,’ ‘Updated,’ and ‘Trending’ rows. This new variable will prioritize islands with thumbnails that follow our best practices — linked here Thumbnail Image Guidelines for Discover. Please make sure that your thumbnails align with our recommended specifications to optimize their visual appeal and overall effectiveness.

It’s easier than ever for players to find islands in Discover with Search! Go beyond what is featured and find fun games and genres for you and your friends. You can now search for islands by island code, island name or tags.

Hey everyone! We have new templates, documentation, weapons, consumables and loads more in the 27.10 update. Let’s jump in!
The Yacht Heist template island sails in to show you how to create a stealth island that uses Patchwork devices to create an adaptive soundtrack. Don’t miss it! Also included is the Triad Infiltration template island that details creating an asymmetric multiplayer game.

New weapons include the Enhanced Drum Shotgun, Wildwasp Jar and the Inkquisitor’s Suppressed SMG. The Icy Grappler slides in as the new consumable.
The Matchmaking Portal Device gets an update! Now players have the same options that are available in the frontend when matchmaking.
There is a new option for automatic translation in Discover! You will be provided with the option to automatically translate the titles, descriptions, and taglines for your islands across nine languages.

We’ve made policy updates to the Fortnite Island Creator Rules. We’ve added examples of content not suitable for a general audience to rule 1.15 (Align with Fortnite’s Game Rating), and clarified rule 1.18.

Hello everyone,

We’re aware of an issue in v27.00 where your previously selected outfit will be saved when using the Changing Booth. You will need to use the Changing Booth twice to change and save the desired outfit. We are working on a fix and will let you know when we have more information.

Patchwork is a suite of interconnected devices in Fortnite Creative and UEFN that will enable you to produce musical gameplay, build dynamic soundtracks and more original experiences.

Many of the devices included will be familiar to those with some experience in electronic music production or audio design.

Hi all, original post has an update.

You can now use the Save Point device in UEFN to save players’ progress over multiple game sessions. Progress, location, resources, and stats can now be saved. Creators can now migrate islands from Creative to UEFN, without losing Save Point functionality. Please note that publishing a migrated island will reset all of its data. This means that the next time players visit your island, they’ll join as new players without any previously saved data. Data migration is not possible at this time. We are exploring solutions and will share an update when one is available but we don't expect this will be resolved this year.

Creators, We will be updating the engagement payout formula, effective November 1, 2023. We will be introducing a new metric to the engagement payout formula that will reward creators when players spend V-Bucks in Fortnite before or after playing their island.

The International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) content rating questionnaire is now available in the Creator Portal, and we strongly recommend you complete it for all of your published islands as soon as possible. Failure to do so could interrupt access to your islands when age and consent ratings launch in Fortnite on November 14.
When you are ready to publish your island to Fortnite, you’ll complete the IARC content-rating questionnaire before submitting your island to moderation.

Hey Creators! We’ve made a number of policy updates to the Fortnite Island Creator Rules, including updates to thumbnail images:

Updated rule 1.15 (Align with Fortnite’s Game Rating): Images and text used to promote your experience must be appropriate for a general audience (e.g. content that would merit a rating of ESRB Everyone 10+, or lower). Images that were previously approved will need to be compliant with this update.
