I’m currently applying to different places because you know, I needa make a living, but I would choose working on games in a heartbeat over any price companies would offer. If there are any positions in which computer science would fit in I would love to apply! :D

Oh we have engineering roles, which I believe Computer Science fits into!

Also you can totally make a living in games too! Riot pays a very competitive salary because we want to hire the best game devs and because cost of living is high out here.

I am loving the reaver collection so much I bought the whole pack. The animation is awesome. My one pain point if I may on the knife animation is no one else can see it. My friends and I both have it and upgraded with radiant. If you look at the knife when the other person is holding it there is no purple mist at all it just looks like the standard version.

Ah, I get that. We do that for competitive integrity. We wouldn’t want an enemy to think you were holding an ability in your hand from far away. We never show any VFX in third person so it’s never pay to win.

Hey, I’m a high schooler who wants to do game programming in college. What can I do now to make myself stand out to employers and does riot offer programming internships? I’ve found some game dev internships limited in some ways. Thanks!

1.) Chase as opportunities to learn and show that really clearly in your internship application/resume. Good internship pipelines look for potential over specific kinds of experience, so showing you have a growth mindset and how you've pursued learning is good.

2.) We do have internships that use programming - ie engineering or tech design. What do you mean limited?

I don't know much about the process, but I remember there being a really great LinkedIn group that had advice. I think it's called "Riot Careers" or something like that.

Hello Preeti! I currently study architecture. I don’t see any architectural internships (I.e maps, structures, space) on the website. I am eager to know if such a thing is possible! Exploring a 3D environment as an architectural space would be awesome as an internship:)

Oh, I don't know. One of our former designers used to be an architect, so maybe that's a potential avenue?

I'm not actually sure, sorry. There's a great LinkedIn group that Riot is involved in (I think it's called Riot Careers). If you post there, you're likely to get a response!

Ok “global communications lead”, your job is to dismiss concerns people have about Valorant’s practices. The same way global communications leads for BP were paid to dismiss people’s concerns about their oil spill. Or how McDonald’s pays PR people to defend advertising grease to children.

Your job is to help Riot make money as quickly and as quietly as possible, your company doesn’t have any interest in employment ethics. Your company is so exploitative to its workers, it led to the first worker walkoff in video game history. https://newrepublic.com/article/153892/riot-game-workers-union

Gross gross gross gross gross. Very fun game tho

I gotta say this is probably not the way to converse, but I don't think you're here to have a conversation...

Forgive me for thinking the company profiting off of kids buying micro transactions could have questionable ethics. It’s manipulative that you’re pretending the only options you have are full time employment and internships. You’re not the only company scamming people into internships. It’s wrong that companies do internships in the first place.

mon frère I suggest you look into the legal forms of employment and opportunity there are available to companies in the united states before you decry the system. It seems like I'm not going to convince you, but you're just out here slinging white hot opinions.

It’s bullshit Riot had an intern do this

They should hire and pay their artists, they’re a multi-billion dollar company and OP did a great job. Riot should’ve hired OP and paid them.

(I know it wasn’t you specifically who made these decisions, I’m just trying to look out for the workers who make games like this possible)

My friend, you can't come in here slinging assumptions. We pay our interns. Preeti has a rundown elsewhere in this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/jpakh6/im_the_intern_who_made_the_reaver_finisher_and/gbduiy8/).

Internships are about high-potential students who can't take on full-time careers until they've graduated. Instead, they get a hands-on sampling of what a role at their chosen company would be like. I have seen and heard of interns who want to drop out and just work at a company the...

We tested with around 2k, 2.6k, and 3k. We could see differences in results between all 3, trending up in FPS with higher RAM totals. I'm not sure if you've hit the point of diminishing returns with 3200 or if it's worth upgrading. Depending on the price you might be able to sell your old RAM and buy new RAM for a relatively cheap total upgrade cost though
