The Hawker Siddeley Harrier was the world’s first operationally successful ground attack aircraft with vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) capabilities. Developed during the 1960’s, several variants of the Harrier are now on course to also become the first V/STOL aircraft available to pilots in War Thunder as they arrive in the game as part of the ‘New Power’ update!

Harrier, jet fighter, Great Britain/USA, V/VI rank.
➕ VTOL capabilities
➕ ersatile secondary weapons
➕ Premium bonuses (on AV-8A & Harrier GR.1)
➖ Subsonic
➖ Limited ordnance compared to conventional strike aircraft

In War Thunder, the Harrier will become the first V/STOL aircraft to arrive in the game and by doing so, pilots will have the chance to experience the aircraft in not just one, but up to four variants - includ... Read more

Neither are relevant to anything in game or this topic. So very unlikely.

Comment

Not with this patch thats for sure.

Comment

This wasn't said, we don't reveal future plans, only close by ones that are relevant to the next major in general. I simply said its not coming to. Plus as I said, you are welcome to suggest it, rather than just keep discussing it here where its no longer relevant.

Comment

Not really sure what the point of this is supposed to be? We have most of the aircraft the UK carriers operated in game, meanwhile we have none of those more modern French jets right now and only the Étendard.

So your logic for this makes no sense, as the UK carriers coming have multiple aircraft relevant too them and the possibility of even more in future. So for an addition right now, they make the most sense. Given a choice between a Carrier that has 6 relevant aircraft + the Harriers coming to be used on them or another Carrier with 1 aircraft relevant, its a clear choice what we would go for.

Meanwhile France has 1 aircraft relevant, so its far less of a logical choice for this moment in time than a UK one. It does not rule out the possibility of it later, but really its a pointless comparison just based of personal national opinion, not the actual current game relevant facts.

Comment

Thats not an issue we face in War Thunder. Étendard can operate just fine from US and UK carriers for the meantime

Thats because right at this exact moment, there are 3 coming. Beyond that, whats possible is still up for consideration. So as I said, lets take the discussion to a proper suggestion and a constructive route rather than a dead ended discussion here.

Comment

Considering we have a wide selection of Royal Navy jets (with more possible in the future), including the most famous to operate from them such as the Phantom FG.1s, its very much logical to have them in game.

As AI bases in maps, yes.

Ka-29 next patch and as I said, the carriers come with the next patch and not everything has been shown for the next patch. But the Russian carrier has other reasons to come.

Priorities had to be made in carrier models and the 3 selected are the 3 most important and relevant to battles currently at top ranks. America and Britain by far have the most Naval fighters in game, which would then be followed by France indeed, with the exception of the fact France is generally always on the same team as both of those nations and historically, French detachments have operated on other NATO carriers such as the US. Whilst Soviet teams would have no carrier option at all as if France received one instead of USSR, you end up with a disproportionate 3 on 1 side and 0 on the other. So in all, it was more logical to prioritize these 3 than just 3 NA...

Soviets have the Ka-29 and also the new carriers are in the next patch, which the contents of which are not fully revealed yet. So whats relevant now and then next patch are two separate matters.

Comment

We welcome further suggestions on these guys, but this topic isn't the place to do it: https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/forum/611-suggestions/

We have 1 French Naval Jet in game at this moment. The Russian carrier will at least be able to field the types of aircraft it operated

A French carrier Is not exactly something that is directly needed at this exact moment, but nobody said it was "never" possible.

Comment

Right now, its the 3 new carriers joining the game with this update.

I dont believe there are any near plans for a French carrier or reworks of existing ones.

Hello

This was an error in the store text. Its now been corrected. The tank does not have Thermals and never had.

Comment

Since this very clearly cannot be discussed in a reasonable manner without insults and claims being thrown around, the thread will now be locked.

Constructive criticism and feedback is one thing, going on a rant and starting to walk the lines of the forum rules is another. Right now this is not being constructive at all. We have answered all the questions raised.

Comment

Sherman's and Stuarts severed in numbers with Italy whilst this one singular tank even raises questions about its own history and completeness.

Indeed two very talented and exceptional creators did make it and its amazing to see their work come to life in game. But the developers still decide whats implemented to the game.

Comment

Like I said, this tank wasn't going to come at all originally. The fact is is coming is also due to feedback. But not everything can come 100% how everyone wants it to come.
