The additions will pop up in the notification center tab at the bottom right of your port UI. You'll see tabs for "Battles" and "Notifications". Under notifications you'll see a variety of actions in the history, and the gifts will be listed there :)

We're still human beings. We could come in and have a real conversation with you like humans or we could give you some corporate platitudes.
As a player, I much prefer a real person to come in and have a real conversation about it, which includes responsibility on both sides.
Sure, we could make the boundaries of a free gift more clear.
Players who notice that boundary could also recognize that it is a free gift and not come in with scorn and ridicule.
Community Managers are the humans in front of the business. I will absolutely hold the company responsible for your criticisms, but I will also make it clear when I think a community member is acting in bad faith.
Two-way street, brother!

So...
This thread's title started as a sarcastic dig because the free stuff we gave out wasn't enough.
That's where we're starting here.
Clearly there is something to be learned about how we phrase things - but I'd like to remind everyone that this was something we did for free to be nice and to thank you all for playing. It feels weird on our end when this is met with sarcasm and derision. It almost makes me want to say in the future, "I recommend against giving out free things like this because there's the risk that we overlook something trivial and our gesture of goodwill is somehow taken as a slight. Best to just not do it". I don't think that's what people want - but that's how it can feel sometimes.
The obvious answer is that we should just add the line next time that says, "Only 1 code of any type can be redeemed per user". That's the obvious takeaway - but I really dislike coming through these threads and seeing people that are legitima...

Not a thing we do. Not sure as to why, but consider it a limitation of Free Look.

It's not a hack. The system allows you to "Lock On" to an enemy ship. After that, your camera follows them when you zoom in with the gunsight. You put your reticle wherever you feel the lead on the enemy ship is correct and you fire.

Normally, you keep looking at the enemy ship and you adjust the reticle a little to respond to whatever they do, but sometimes they just sail in a straight line and you don't have to move your reticle at all. So, extrapolating off that:

You put the reticle where you feel you need to lead your target, and then if you Free Look with the right mouse button, the reticle stays in the same spot relative to the target. The "lead" stays locked in.

If the enemy ship speeds up, slows down, turns in, turns out... any of those things will make your aiming off and require you to go back and re-aim your reticle again. Still, it's useful to keep your guns firing while you pop your head back with Free-Look so you c...

New ships can certainly be powerful or weak, and for extended periods of time.

As for now, she's only been out for a month or so. Barring extreme outliers, we typically collect data for 2-3 patches before we start looking at if changes are needed, so there's still more time for people to try her out and see who can make her do what.

I like her a lot, and I know many others that do too, but there are also CV players that feel she is simply unplayable because they want to hunt Cruisers and Battleships in other ways. Everyone will have their own taste/playstyle.

It's absolutely powerful, sure. The AP Bombs are functional, but the CV is just Skip bombs and Fighters so that is the majority of its power budget. Even the hull speed is super slow as an additional power drain.

As much as I agree, even if you weren't there he could still have died. He was going to yolo that cap whether you existed or not. If he didn't know to stop when he smoked, even worse as the DD and Cruiser that were shoving the cap would've hurt him badly.

He certainly may have paniced under your attacks, but the play was fairly normal for "I'm in a DD and I'm supposed to go to the cap". You see it quite often, but that doesn't make it a play that won't get the DD killed.

[Insert "My DDs die in under 3 minutes" ranting in chat]

Ultimately, every play a player makes comes down to the player. He had 35 seconds to see you coming, and he still yolo'd alone (you didn't even spot a cruiser on ...

Because "game". There are times where the realistic situation impedes the concept the game mechanic is going for, so there's a give-and-take.

The most often derided non-realism things I hear are about Radar seeing through islands. If the consumable was re-labeled "Detection", then it'd avoid the real-world comparisons by virtue of non-realistic name.

"O" and "~" (tilde) are the default.

I personally use "Priority Sector is O.P." as my moniker to DD players. Use it for the instant damage and turn the AA off (unless you know what you're doing).

I don't know how old the previous iteration of "Priority Sector" was. It may have been implemented in Patch 8.0, but I started around patch 8.2 or 8.3.

The old version showed a window and you set a side. Once that side was set, there was a few second countdown and then that side was "Boosted" while the other was not. You could alter it to the other side or neutral using the window. It was user input/timing intensive, and most people seemed to just set a side and use that side to kill planes with hard buffed AA.

Aigle should've seen your planes coming and hung back from yolo'ing the cap.

Your planes were spotted 26 seconds into your replay and you first spotted the Aigle 35 seconds later. That's a lot of time to reconsider hard yolo'ing the cap and seeing what Happy Ending is waiting inside. "We bomb you long time, $5"

Secondly, he smoked and never used it, which was bizarre. However, maybe he was worried he'd be torped out of his smoke by the DD that was firing at him?

Either way, he overcommitted into a known threat and ran out of his only backup plan.

Question to you, can I borrow you for a Training Room? I'd like to run a Tier 6 DD and see how long I can last against you in a Bearn.
