It's not more precise. It's literally just making a map ping where the white arc (ping indicator) is displayed on the water. The ping indicator has some variance to it, so the map ping has the same amount of offset since the location is the same.

It's nice for grabbing your attention that something happened though. It's brief, like the indicator, but it's certainly a nice addition.

Ranked in Gold gives a great playground for highly invested players. The games tend to follow understandable patterns and play out well for the most part. They are still the result of a random matchmaker, but most players in Gold are quite able to give a solid contribution, though even the best can still lose.

Remember that skill doesn't prevent blow outs. Some of the greatest teams in sports routinely face off against each other and can go from having a match which is constantly back and forth for the duration to having a match which is a lopsided stomp. Things play out the way they play out.

Battles come down to the wire even in Random Battles. This was a recent match that I felt was worthy of saving, for instance.

I would strongly advise you stop using the mod as the main result of using it in my experience is people chatting how they've already lost and giving up early. Or just being angry in general.

Random Battles provides a random matchmaker. Play each match as its own thing, because it will be its own experience due to the amount of variables at play. If you want a more skill-measured environment, Ranked Battles provides the opportunity to separate yourself to a smaller, more exclusive matchmaking pool by going up to Silver or Gold. Clan Battles can provide the experience of rising to your height and then having an expectation of staying there short of altering your play or tactics to garner different results.

One of the best translation tools I found was this YouTube video:

The game of Go has an incredible number of options in terms of "What could happen". I think the tagline spoken was that "there are more possible board combinations than there are atoms in the known universe."

World of Warships can seem more straightforward than that at first glance, but given that even given location on the map could be occupied by a variance of ship types, further compounded by the ship to be angled at any of 360 degrees (or more if counting sub-units of a degree)... there's a lot of possibility that exists. It's an overwhelming amount of what "could" happen, even though patterns of play are often noted and tend to be the norm across many games.

When I was being trained to play CV for a Hurricane team, I was being given a crash-course in map tactics and positioning. I'd come to infer much of what I was being told thr...

We decided to have Random Battles be Random. This increases the diversity of experience as you will encounter a wide variety of play and skill variance.

Also, MMR systems tend to move a player to a point where they have a 50/50 win rate even when pushing at their absolute utmost. When not, the result is a string of losses until the MMR has rebalanced to that different norm. There are positives and negatives to any system, but the constant uphill battle can and does lead to burnout as feelings of progress stall out.

For players that crave an MMR system, Clan Battles has a point-based ranking structure which comes close to the concept. Your team will escalate to the point where it finds itself steady-stating amongst its peers. Clan Battles is a constant high-effort game-mode, so burnout isn't uncommon over the duration of a season.

Ranked Battles use the Random Battles Matchmaker, but with a restricted player pool...

There was a small update that is being cycled onto the Live Server. The client restart after you press "Connect" should allow your computer to process the update and allow the game to work, but some players are reporting that the update-cycling is not finishing.

We'll look to provide the update via the launcher later today which should correct the issue some players are experiencing. Please try again later in the evening tonight as that process should be in place at that time.

The PTS doesn't open until tomorrow, but I got the posts created so they're available for when it does.

Yeah, the head's up thread was hidden to avoid confusion after the threads were made.

You could consider a Dockyard as a way to purchase a cool ship at a heavy Discount through a lengthy in-game grind. Normally a Tier 9 Ship costs around 19,300 Doubloons.

You can acquire the Daisen for 5,000 Doubloons by completing the Dockyard mission grind.

For 5,500 Doubloons you could buy 2 non-discounted Stages and the Battle Pass. Grinding the Battle Pass to the 3 Stages Reward and completing the Dockyard would mean getting not only the Daisen, but all the rewards in both the Dockyard and the Premium side of the Battle Pass, which is a LOT of stuff.

-

Even if you elect not to spend any Doubloons at all, there is a still a wealth of in-game things you earn by doing Dockyard missions and completing the Free Track of the Battle Pass.

You can, yes. It's a way to get a lot of Stages at a discounted price.

We'll have more details to share on specifics like this in the near future - right now we're reviewing feedback on the changes as a whole. Sorry I don't have more for you right now!

Defensive Fire's Cooldown can be reduced by a Slot 2 Upgrade, a Signal Flag which affects DFAA directly, a Signal Flag which affects all consumables, and a Commander Skill if available.

80 x .9 x .9 x .9 x .95 = 55.4 second cooldown.

Slot 2 upgrade:

Commander Skill:

Sierra Bravo signal

November Foxtrot signal

I'm not sure how many ships have non-standard DFAA, but San Diego does have a reduced Cooldown of 60 seconds base which leads to a very fast cooldown of 41.6 seconds when the above are equipped:
