Trying to silence everyone telling me having more than 500% melee on an anky gets better results. EDIT: The only official thing from WC ever stated on the topic is a patch note from years ago and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About NPC crewmates, do you mean that you can't recruit any NPC on a private server ?

You can recruit them. Was just saying that you will likely need them as opposed to them being optional.

/u/ZenRowe this should be an easy fix, though it could take a little time. These guys have already done the legwork for orionsun, can you help us make sure he gets the time to fix it please?

I have actually already raised the issue, and a discussion has begun on how best to handle it. There are a lot of potential fixes (some easy, some not), but many of them are high-impact and not likely to be implemented.

One thing that should be noted is that, while we want to prevent overlap conflicts like this: Homestead is not designed to work with S+ or be a mix & match system, it's one or the other. So any fix that may be implemented is likely going to continue following that stance.

Maybe a video showcasing why using narcoberries to keep a tame knocked out is almost always better than using narcotic/ascerbic mushrooms/biotoxin? I've gotten into forum wars over this topic. Narcotic/Biotoxin are only better when weight is an issue or in some cases when the dino has an extremely long torpor drain timer, like on a rex. If you KO a giga, it has only a few minutes before it stands up. It also has a MASSIVE torpor pool. Feeding it 100 narcotic induces 4000 torpor. Feeding 500 narcoberries induces the same 4000 torpor. The difference is that narcotic induces the torpor over 12.5 minutes, the narcoberries do it over 25 minutes (5 minutes per 100 berries). When torpor is going up, it can't go down... so, let the giga drop to 1,000 torpor (it will have 20k+ max torpor) and dump a ton of narcoberries into it. The giga will be unconcious for over an hour without having to worry. Sulphur taming a golem? Takes what, like 4-8 hours depending on the server settings....

My opinion is clearly biased but I think you'd get enough fun playing with one or two players. Some things would definitely take a lot of time to do and some things would be more complex to handle without NPC crewmates to assist you but they can be done. The exploration alone and sailing along has always been one of my main draws to the game and if you had a several node server to play on where you could just sail along and explore I think you'd have plenty of fun.

I pulled some dinos out of cryo myself, my rexes AND a gig, i CAN Confirm they were fed full when cryo'd, when i pulled them out they were at HALF food. not cryo sickness, I waited for the timer cd. It seems to be related to the stasis bug, where a dino in stasis when it came out, the game doesn't correctly calculate the food/hunger and it starts starving. THIS IS A KNOWN BUG. Has been around for a LONG time. It became prevalent when the water stasis/raising was fixed and ORP was implemented. It's still happening to some degree. Also related to the same bug where babies starve if you are not in render when they go juvenile, and the poof age of dinos if you are not in render at the time of tame.

Interesting - this bit is worth investigating. Thanks.

I concur, that is ridiculously elaborate. It looks sweet though!

I feel like it's a hidden gem... It's not the largest map, but it's about Island-Sized and it has a massive Aberration style cave that just keeps getting deeper. As silly as it is, I feel like the icon for the map (which is just a dinosaur) makes people skip over it when looking through a map list. The sky, weather, and multitude of flat plateaus (perfect for anything castle-themed), makes the map shine. I also think the wyvern area is one of the best I've ever seen.

I've been meaning to check this one out!

There's increased effort to work through these tickets. Rest assured!

Known issue - we're working on the fix.

Customer Service has had an influx of tickets due to the deployment last week. I apologize, there's no E.T.A. at the moment but we're hoping to get a general status update out for those who are affected. At the moment they are still working through them. My apologies for the inconveniences!

You are correct. Though im not with the majority's opinion as to why i find those exploits so for a better understanding of why meshers do it, you'll find a different awnser than mine, but here we go. Throughout arks history, specially in the begging, we didn't have a good knowledge of the whole game. Basically on pvp specially, who knows more is king. Knowledge will always put you ontop on any situation, after that the only thing that will improve your game will be skills. Im usually very strict about meshing, i don't abuse it unless theres a reason for it, ONLY in legacy. Let me tell you why. Legacy doesn't have support anymore, meshing and exploiting is a common thing there as I've said before, however if you are not one to also know it you'll likely be abused by other people who do it. My reasoning for FINDING exploits was always knowledge. Almost always i wont be using those bugs, i prefer legit raids. But as to why is knowledge. Knowledge is knowledge regardless. That isnt o...

Thanks for your input. I did find another perspective that I haven't really seen come across before. The mesh stashes (as a way to protect valuables) is one I hadn't thought of.

I clicked on this expecting a pile of dead bodies.... Happy to see this was NOT the case :D
As for why I clicked on a post that may have had a pile of dead bodies? I don't want to talk about it

Wanted to stop by and share some details about how this works. When a dino is inside of a cryopod, it isn't a dino. It's just a string of data - it's nearly identical to when they're uploaded or saved in your savegame. The presence of stats on the detail panel of the cryopod can be an indication of how long ago it was cryo'd (before the patch that added that) or some other ui bug, but those stats are separate from the dino itself and are not an indication of its health inside of the pod.

It's impossible for a dino to starve while it's inside of a cryopod - it doesn't know what food is. The only thing that can happen in that state is the cryopod losing its charge and destroying the dino inside. I think it's likely that that behavior is being misinterpreted as starving.

There is a tricky bit with that when a cryofridge isn't powered and you open it up to look at your cryopods. When you do that, they decay for the amount of time that has passed since they were last exa...

The only way to counter meshing right now is to stop meshing. Big brother IS watching. Meanwhile, we are working on in-house solutions to reduce it from happening in the first place.
