Appears that the fix had unfortunately failed, the team have been made aware and will be digging into it!

Note:

We have made a correction to these Update Notes to now display the correct damage ranges for the M416. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused!

M416 damage increased within the following ranges:

▫️ 40 - 60m increased to 22 damage

▫️ 60m+ increased to 18 damage

@gjeewaytee, okay, that's odd.

And how exactly do you own the game, is this via the EA app, Steam, or Epic? EA_LeeuwAHQ

You would know the answer to this question if you listened to the episode :-)

Absolutely love this clip and encapsulates all the right feels. Glad that every step we make, it pushes it further to allow you to do more of this.

Ps: I too enjoy doing low flybys, not because it looks epic, but because I giggle at the thought that it spooks people 😊

Hello there,

Update 5.0.1 releases this week with a small set of changes aimed at resolving some of Quality of Life issues and balancing, following Season 5: New Dawn’s launch.

We’ve enjoyed watching your reactions as you head back to familiar territory with Reclaimed, alongside getting to grips with the new weapons and gadgets for this Season.

With just a few weeks to go, Game Update 5.1.0 is on the horizon which acts upon even more of your feedback that you’ve been submitting to us.

Interesting listen. Not claiming to be an expert but it really sounds like alot of the restricted response and time consumption seems to be working around the live service portion of this game.

For example - as far as i can tell - they are making tools with parameters in it to make adjustments to variables (e.g. weapons damage) live, if a variable that is causing a problem isnt included in that tool, a change needs to be made to that tool and then rolled out so that they can make a change to that variable all because its a live service.

This to me sounds like alot of effort and time consumption for what should essentially be a relatively small patch, all because its a live service.

Not to downplay the amount of effort required to do this, but id much rather have a 3 hour downtime every 2 weeks while the game is updated and have faster response to issues/larger coverage patches than have a live service, it makes very little difference to the playe...

We can make those updates without downtime now. The downtime wouldn't add anything, it would just be less convenient for you as a player.

Separately, making changes and updating the backend tools is separate work between teams so it's not that we have to choose between making a change OR updating the tools. We can do both.

Setting up that backend will be a major benefit to the game now, but also for what comes in the future.

It is not like it is "fringe" player behaviour that caused this. This is something that is immediately apparent if you use an AR - especially the AC.

You also boast about being able to allegedly "hotfix" issues quickly based on player feedback - yet the RM68 has been widely complained about since Season 4 launch and the entire season nothing was done. And the "fix" in Season 5 made it worse. Now you say you will do more to the RM68 - but why wasn't this in Season 5 from the very beginning then if you have the ability to "hotfix"?

It was literally just tweeted that you hotfixed buff the mini grenades, inspite the intention to fix explosive spam this season....? I'm so confused why this was a priority? Doesn't this run contrary to your intentions about redu...

For anyone else reading, I first recommend to instead listen to the podcast which has full context + a longer discussion on the subject. But I'll summarize answers to the questions below.

Changes to the RM68- Since we already changed dispersion for all Assault Rifles in the Season 5 update, we wanted to see how that played first before making further changes to the RM68. As a team we are in favor of gradual changes vs over-buffing/nerfing. With that said, it can happen that we miss the mark on a change.

What can we "live tweak"?

- We can't do live tweakables (yet) for all in-game items. We can do it for Gadgets as an example, as we did today for the Spring Grenade. But as of right now, weapon changes still need a separate game update, and work on that next game update is ongoing.

Live tweaking versus other priorities

- If we see that an item is not performing as we want it to, and we ca...

This doesn't replace your other grenades. You have to pick one, so there it doesn't lead to "more" explosives.

Weapon balance changes are coming in separately, via a Quality of Life update as we can't "live tweak" them similar to what we did today for this Gadget. Stay tuned for details.
