Yup, this is completely normal and expected as the city grows and more calculations are needed for the citizens to get around.

We will need a full list of the mods you're using to help with this. The easiest way to do that is to share your output log (called player.log on Mac and Linux).

Here's where to find the log depending on your operating system. To easily find the local files for the game, right click your game in the Steam library, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab and select Browse local files.

Windows
\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt

Mac OS X
Users//Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/Colossal Order/Cities: Skylines/Player.log

As we can't attach files here on Steam, you will need to upload the file somewhere else. Here's a few sites you can upload it to, which do not require you to sign up first:

Did you manage to activate the keys or are you still having problems?

Instant Return To Desktop or manually ending the process is the fastest way to quit the game. Just make sure the saving process has finished! Which is only AFTER "packaging" has disappeared in the top right corner.

That could very well be it! The landscaping tools aren't supposed to be able to have that small a brush. If I remember right, the smallest possible size is 15. Terraforming gets weird when using the "single" size brush. I'd just avoid it, even though it makes for a very nice edge. Better to use a quay or use the terraforming networks.

Hi and welcome! ^^

Once subscribed everything shows up in the Content Manager in game, where it needs to be enabled to work. Assets (buildings, props, trees, roads, vehicles etc) are enabled by default when added, while mods are disabled by default.

It's important to see what asset you are dealing with. Roads will ofc be in one of the road categories, while a fire station will be in the fire buildings tab. Some buildings are what is commonly called "growables" - that's the buildings that automatically appear when you zone an area. You won't see them in any menu in your city, but when subscribed and enabled, they can appear in your city.

I really recommend reading this beginner's guide to modding, as there's a lot to understand to avoid running into trouble when modding the game. It covers all the basics and gives some recommendations for where to start. :)

That is what is generally referered to as a 2nd load, which breaks a lot of mods. It's simply something you have to avoid when using workshop content. When loading a 2nd time, everything is loaded "on top" of the first load, which is as messy as it sounds. So always restart the game after having loaded once.

That's a broken mod. I think it might be Dropouts, but I'm not sure. Definitely one of the mods listed here:

Let's start with old mods first. Here are some you should unsubscribe and replace with newer versions:

- Advanced Toolbar - conflicts with Resize It!, never have 2 mods that do the same.
- Demand Master is broken - there are a few other options like Super Demand, though nothing exactly like it.
- Advanced Road Anarchy - long broken, conflicts with Fine Road Anarchy 2 (which does everything you need anyways)
- No Pillars - you don't need this mod, it overlaps with other newer mods you have.

Remove those and make sore to enable any replacement you got. Add the mod Save Our Saves and make sure to enable it. Then restart the game.

Before loading your city, go into Options, find the Loading Screen Mod on the left and under options for it find the Safe Mode options. Enable all of them. Then try loading your city.

If that doesn't work, upload the log again, so we can see if something got solved.

Since you have a time frame for when it stopped working, you can start by looking at which mods you added or which mods you have updated in that time. You can sort subscriptions by Date Updated to easily see. It would be a mod that was added or updated in the time since the shortcut was working correctly.

Then to test unsubscribe the mod(s) that fit the time frame, start the game and load a new city, then test if the shortcut works again. If it does, add the mods back one (or a few) at a time until you find the one interfering.

If it's a lot of mods, I'd be happy to take a look at the list and give some ideas as to which ones are more likely to play a role.

Ah in that case make sure to set the Environment to Winter as well as selecting a Winter Theme. That should convert the map completely. :)

A completely black and/or very shiny LOD usually means the model's UV map is outside where it should be. Basically the LOD ends up with a texture from another building/prop, which is why it looks weird. It's best to avoid buildings/props that do that, as they can mess with other LODs. They will have a different error though. :)

Edit; I did try to dredge the river with MoveIt to see if there were hidden objects but nothing was found.

I'm not entirely sure what causes it. I've had one in one of my cities, which was right where a canal open... Read more

There hasn't been an update to the mod since April and the game hasn't had a patch in a long time either. So anything breaking it either comes from the mod files getting corrupted or another mod interfering.

Try unsubscribing the mod, wait for Steam to remove the files, then go to the workshop folder (typically found here, though might vary a bit depending on where your Steam is installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\255710 ) and delete the folder named 650805785. Then subscribe to the mod again and let Steam download it. If Steam decides to be annoying and the mod doesn't show up in game, log out of Steam and restart Steam.

Parklife Plus is a little bundle that includes the Parklife DLC as well as the Country Radio station DLC.

Parklife is needed to have that option. If you have the DLC, then you need to find the area tool, which is in the same menu as the district tool. Here's a screenshot to make it easier to find.

Do you have any other mods that affect cameras or zoom? Could be an incompatible mod or just another mod overwriting the shortcut.

The ones I linked only do one or the other. So the water ones will supply water while the ones in the sewage collection will treat sewage. The benefit of the sewage ones is they work inland and don't produce any ground or water pollution - just some noice pollution to simulate the smell (since we don't have air pollution in the game).

The error "LOD xys null" shouldn't be a huge deal. Does the Loading Screen Mod report the asset as broken? Otherwise I'd just ignore it. It's basically just saying that the particular building's LOD model is missing a specular/normal map combined texture. This is a really minor thing and shouldn't break the building on its own.

It might also be worth trying to see if there's something invisible in that area. Grab Move It and use the marque tool with all boxes checked on the area to see if it finds anything. Then delete whatever might be there.

Redoing the quay nearby and smoothing the terrain around it might also solve the issue.
