Hey there,

The contents of the Barbarian edition are listed on its Steam page clearly, with no mention of any of the posterior DLC packs being part of it. We’re sorry if they didn’t meet your expectations, but in this case we feel there is no misleading information if you read the description of the contents of this edition.
We’re going to proceed to close this thread as this issue has been resolved.

Hey folks!

We have rolled out another quick Testlive hotfix to take of some additional crashes. We’ve also changed the game settings for so called garbage collection, which should help with the game stuttering in places. Thank you to our players for inspiring this particular fix.

This rules have been in effect since Funcom introduced forums in general. And a general post has been stickied in the Funcom news section.

We’ve now made it more clear and easier to find these rules. The idea is to have stickies on all sections but the forums don’t allow for the same title for the same posts :wink:

We’re aware of this issue. It’s related to how fast assets are loaded into your client. Hopefully, this issue will be alleviated with our upcoming performance optimizations.

We brought your question to a designer and he got back to us with the logic behind this, based on different perspectives:

Lore-friendly explanation
First and foremost - thralls are experts at their job, but they will only do as they’re told, which requires their master (you, the player) to tell them “Make this design I know, except better”. That’s why they don’t have the recipes for the ‘normal’ versions. As far as the exceptional versions go - they are experts and will perform to their maximum capacity and would sneer at you for making something as lowly as an Exceptional version, because that’s not utilizing their full potential.

We have another quick little hotfix for the Testlive client to take care of some additional critical issues. We wanted to get these sorted before rolling the Testlive branch over to the PC live branch.

Part of our focus right now is to refine core mechanics, make exploration more exciting and improve experience as well as the leveling curve. We already have our Purge improvement/fixes on TestLive. February will see updates where we will gradually deploy more patches to our Test Servers and Live which deal with the following issues, additions and improvements:
  • More updates for the Purge
  • More performance updates
  • Improvements to AI behavior and controls
