Has anyone had any luck in contacting MS on this issue, of cloud save access?

We don't have any other such reports, as yet anyway.

But why particular in-game routines would trigger such a thing is hard to understand. Have you excepted ck3.exe from Windows Defender, assuming that is your only AV app?

AMD Radeon(TM) Vega 8 Graphics
This is not a supported video system for this game:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-2120 / AMD® FX 6350
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia® GeForce™ GTX 660 (2GB) / AMD® Radeon™ HD 7870 (2GB) / Intel® Iris Pro™ 580 / Intel® Iris® Plus G7 / AMD® Radeon™ Vega 11

Whether that is causing your problem I'm not 100% sure.

Bluescreens are always Windows, driver or hardware faults. Next time you see one, record the text on the screen for us, thanks.

Meantime,
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

Does that help at all?

If you have this game on Steam you should be using the Steam Workshop for mods - try that.

Otherwise Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I don't play this game so I don't fully understand the problem you refer to with helmets. You mean a visual bug of some sort? Is this in a new campaign started since the latest patch and the clean reinstall above?

What errors does the log show now?

That seems to be saying it is running out of Vram, which seems unlikely with your hardware!

If you select Vulkan instead of DX11 in the launcher-game settings menu, do you still get this?

You can to that! Please make a new thread in Bug Reports with full details, thanks. QA will look into it then.

You are getting two kinds of crashes now? One on save and a separate one related to video settings?

It is hard to understand how video settings could cause a crash when you go to save a game, they are really unrelated things!

I'm not suggesting that MS make previous game save file compatible with the latest game version. We don't even know that is the problem here, it may be corrupted save files.

What we want from MS is a way to at least see your files in their cloud outside the game (as is possible with Steam), and a way to delete them OR they delete them on request.

I'm not aware of any other reports of this. This is literally any mod whatsoever, even say new music ?

Has it always been like this for you, or was okay up to some point?

Are all these mods updated to work properly with 1.9.2.1 ?

You are right, minor game patches should not cause a compatibility issue; however it is always possible! Not every game situation can be tested in a hotfix, due to the quick release time.

It is possible the good folks over in User Mods could see what's wrong in the save file and fix it for you; absent that I'm afraid you'll need to start a new campaign.

Sorry for that problem!

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters
Go to Windows Control panel.
Click on Network & Internet.
Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.

This game is no longer supported on the standalone Paradox launcher, and you will not get recent game versions or DLCs there. You'll need to run it from Steam now.

I did escalate it to my manager who took it to the game's developers. I don't know what happened from that point I'm afraid! I can ask again next week (yet another Swedish public holiday today).

Have you raised it with MS? It is always best to attack such issues from both ends, IME.

You've gone into C:/users/{UserName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/ , you need to go into C:/users/{UserName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/ , with Programs in the middle.

So you were, and are, in fact up to date. What did you mean by this, please? An update to something else?

In any case, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have... Read more
