No mention of this game in that dxdiag. But lots of crashes in MsiExec.exe , do try unloading all MSI apps/utilities and geForce Experience if running. And undo any overclocking you might have enabled.

Well, I assure you that is a problem with this game and those models of CPU. Also with Vic3 and Imperator, that use the same game engine.

It may be you have a different problem as well, or instead, of course. However your symptoms do match the problem with e-cores ... are you sure you've set Affinity correctly for ck3.exe and your setup?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

This crash is nothing to do with .NET , as the game does not use it.

Your problem is likely here:
Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K (32 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
This is a current issue with this game, or rather the underlying game engine, which is being investigated. Meantime use Affinity in Windows to restrict ck3.exe to use only the first 16 cores (ie the p-cores) you have there.

Sorry for that problem!

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:

If it only affects you I guess it must be an issue on your machine, local network or ISP.

If you have a VPN try connecting via that, as a test. Any better?

The Apple Silicon platform is not supported hardware for this game, so the graphics etc are at the mercy of Apple's Rosetta emulation. Do make sure you are on the latest MacOS 13.4.1 to get the latest version of Rosetta.

Also, make sure the game resolution in fullScreen mode matches that of your Mac's desktop.

Good luck!

Looking at this reports you linked: the Steam one was shown to be caused by a mod, "Dynastic Relation". The Reddit one had 14 mods enabled. The unmodded one from this forum was from November 2022 (so may be an unrelated issue/cause). And the recent one from this forum had 9 mods in use.

I don't recall similar reports here from unmodded games, but of couurse that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

From what you say you believe this is a game bug of some sort, is that right? If so it really belongs in the Bug Reports forum.

But if you feel tech support-type measures may be able to help you regardless, let me know and I'll try and come up with some things to try.

This is only confined to this one modded campaign, is that right? ANy vanilla campaigns you have or might start now work okay?

If so, please contact the mod authors in the Steam Workshop, or our User Mods forum.

It can be, yes.

If you disable ALL mods and start a new campaign, do you get the same problem?

Please tell or show us what that error is.

And please confirm if it affects both local and cloud saves, or not.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, I'm sorry! But I see many mod errors in that log - if this is a modded campaign we cannot help with it here. Please post in the User Mods forum.

Good luck!

Has it always been the case for you, or it used to work?

Does this affect both local and cloud saves?
