Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online v2.29 (PS4) / v1.11 (PS5) and the beginning of the Legacy of the Bretons year-long adventure! This first DLC features two challenging new PvE dungeons, Coral Aerie and Shipwright’s Regret, where you’re tasked with investigating the remnants of the once-proud All Flags Navy and assaulting a costal hideout of the mysterious Ascendant Order. Completing these dungeons also gives you the opportunity to obtain a number of new item sets, collectibles, achievements, and more.

As part of the free base game update, we are excited to add account wide Achievements so an Achievement you earn on one character will be shown as complete on all of your characters. We’ve also added several new PvP item sets that are earned from Rewards of the Worthy and Imperial City, in addition to a unique PvP Outfit Style and an update to PlayStation Trophies.

Below, you’ll find a list of issues that we expect to be present when Update 33 launches on consoles tomorrow, March 29, based on issues that occurred during PC launch a couple weeks ago. Please note this list is not comprehensive and only covers issues that are of a higher impact.

[*] The first time you log in after downloading the update, it will likely take longer than expected to get into the game due to backend account updates relating to Account Wide Achievements. Once this completes, all future load times should return to normal.
[*] Your map will occasionally display completed POIs (including World Bosses, Dolmens and Delves) as incomplete. This will be fixed in the first incremental patch.
[*] Occasionally, you may briefly get changed to first person view while in third person view. We are working on a fix for this for a future incremental patch.

The Elder Scrolls Online v7.3.6 fixes the issue where completed map POIs would sometimes appear incomplete, some issues with the Night’s Silence and Turning Tide item sets, a fix for a crash when starting up the game, and more. The size of this patch is approximately 79.3 MB.

Since Update 33 launched, I think the PC North American megaserver performance problems deserve some explanation. This post outlines what has been going on the last week or so for our North American PC players.

First, last year (which seems like decades ago) we announced a plan to increase ESO’s stability and performance, and we have been diligently performing tasks behind the scenes with every update to implement them. One of the larger items on this list was "Database Sharding" which is a simple concept: take our giant player database (DB) and separate it into two sections for "current characters" and "older characters" so the entire DB doesn't have to be queried when a player logs in. Over time, our character DB (one per Megaserver) has been growing and about two years ago, its sheer size became a bottleneck. This is why the "requesting character load" part of the login process sometimes takes a lot longer than it should.
