CCP Swift has said, on the EVE O discord, that the minutes should be out next week. Hopefully when they come out they will include information on the next election.

I expect there will be information about the next election soon™.

CCP is no longer supporting the technology used to power EVE Anywhere behind the scenes. Instead, we will be further investing our energy and resources into a new and improved desktop launcher for the game, which is currently in Beta (as of Wed 12 April), bringing heightened security, tailored content, increased convenience, and a faster and more seamless launch into New Eden.

Post

EVE Anywhere, the cloud-based platform allowing EVE Online to be played in-browser, will be discontinued on Wed 24 May.

CCP will continue to support EVE Anywhere up until Wed 24 May; please note that PLEX payments through the service will no longer be accepted from Mon 22 May.

As we bid farewell to EVE Anywhere, we extend our gratitude to all the pioneering EVE pilots who have been a part of this incredible journey. Thank you for helping us deliver EVE Online in this ambitious approach, and rest assured that CCP remains open to exploring new ways for players to access EVE Online in the future.

For now, players can still explore alternative ways to access EVE Online, such as cloud gaming services like NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW. We’d also like to encourage players to join the ongoing Launcher Beta to help shape its development.

It sounds like you would like to have a corporation where FW enlistment is optional, but you’d like everyone in corp to be able to directly enlist with only one faction. For that, you would want to have your corporation outside of FW and then have a director select the single Empire you would allow enlistment with.

With this structure, members joining would still need personal standings with the ...

There’s a thread on the EVE discord’s #launcher-beta channel where @Katrina_Bekers has shared their progress in getting the launcher to run under Wine. There have been some issues due to wine running apps with full admin access, and the new launcher wanting to be installed as a user, but last I saw they found a workaround for that.

Hey! Thanks for participating (even though it was a pretty small mass test)!
We were able to identify a few bugs and are still going through further data from the test.
2M SP were added to 88 characters on Singularity as small reward.

Yeah, we are currently investigating other options regarding rewards for future test, as well if we can improve our communication about the mass tests.

There is a small update today though!

It is currently being worked on and we’re exploring different avenues to adjust the impact of the service on our infrastructure going forward. We have generated a small form to help us with learning how everyone used to / intends to use the market history ESI endpoint when we bring it back online. If you can spare any time for some feedback on the form it would be appreciated!

It’s a good thought in the event that anything like this happens in the future, we actually considered it as well as a form of mitigation, but the system was designed to be open to all, then closed to specific IPs as required (i.e a blacklist system).

We also don’t want to punish any (new) developers trying to access the endpoints trying to develop apps that are using dynamic IP ranges that need constant updates too.

@Arrendis can you file a bug report from within the new launcher? If that fails let me know so I can run you through the manual steps.

Comment

Hey, we are aware of the issue and looking into a resolution. Thanks for your patience.

Update: EVE Anywhere is back online. Thanks again for your patience while this was resolved.

You can get to character selection screen by using 2 methods

in settings - click the “Always go to character selection screen” Butan
OR
Setup a group and don’t select a pilot

Comment

CSM and others were specifically against this as it adds time for login traps and quick acess to the game - that is why there is a check box and also a groups option to get the to the character selection screen to minimize load time

Comment

If you start typing a name a create button will appear. We’ll make this a bit more clear in a future update.

Just a reminder that you can collect daily login rewards while logged in on the bottom right of the NEOCOM bar.

Comment

This is something we are looking into adding, yes.

Comment

Can you file a bug report (from within the launcher) about this?

Comment

There is no automatic way to sort this, but you can already re-order the accounts by dragging them into the right order. That should at least allow you to get your most frequently used accounts some better visibility.
