Imagine you have your 'wormholes' subfolder, you can right click on it in the places window or whatever and set this folder to have a default expiry time of 48 hours. When you create the bookmark, in the window that pops up you have the dropdown to select which subfolder you want to save it in, and then you have the radio button to select the expiry time. When you pick your 'wormholes' subfolder from the dropdown, it then automatically sets the radio button to the '48 hour' setting. If that's what you want, then you don't need to do anything else, but say you see this wormhole is EoL, so for this particular bookmark you then manually set the radio button to 4 hours instead. This particular bookmark will then expire in 4 hours, but doing that doesn't affect the default setting for the subfolder so the next bookmark you create pops up wit...

Great suggestions all around! Thank you all for giving feedback.

This will be for sure discussed further internally, publicly (like when we do our first test on a public test server) and also with the CSM. We discussed the bookmarks proposal already with the CSM as part of the winter summit, but then we did not really go into details regarding the expiring part (and we had no dedicated wormholer in the CSM).

Unfortunately this will pretty sure be outside of the scope of this project, but we will try to keep it in mind and structure things in a way so that it will be easy to add later.

I think the wormhole groups probably use bookmarks the most (and have the most complex schemes). You should have Exooki work with his constituents to see what they think would be best.

Good idea!

One limitation would be for sure that we don't want to complicate the UI too much, so we should not add way too many options for how long the bookmark expiry will be. How would you approach this? Is an option to expire after 48 hours sufficient for WH bookmarks?

No worries, I need you anyway to test those changes :)

Would be really cool if this were applied to Folders instead of individual Bookmarks. This would help Corp/Alliance leaders have a little better control over it instead of everyone just adding in chaos.

This seems like an interesting request and it would probably be quite easy to change to this approach.

Is there anybody reading here, who would prefer to select it per bookmark?

Btw: The current plan is that you will be able to have a few folders active at the same time - but it will be for sure limited (like for example 3 shared folders and then another few personal folders, to which only you have access).

Depends on how its implemented. If it is at the folder level it could be really powerful. Off the top of my head:

Wormholes - Expire after 48 hours

Temp Tactical - Expire after 7 days

Well, current plan is that there will be radio-button selection in the window to create a bookmark with a few options (like: "Never", "In 2 days", "In 3 hours") - so if you want you can keep them all on "Never". The selection will be remembered, but you need to be a bit careful, if you switch between options and then need to create a bookmark very fast (but in the current prototype you can cancel the expiry afterwards, if really needed).

Quite a few of us play fairly regularly and fairly hardcore, we just stay away from positions of influence or high profile because it would result in us being outed.

Playing anonymously and not revealing your identity is mandatory, but in all honesty given the way EVE players behave, it's for the best.

I tried to play outed once, and it lasted about four hours due to constant evemail spam and suicide ganking for no other reason that the players in question knew there was a dev behind the keyboard.

The reason we don't play openly is because it would affect the sandbox and we'd get harassed well beyond the realms of what's considered acceptable targeting of an individual in EVE.

If we played openly, we wouldn't get the experience of "playing" the game as a player.

Maybe I'm blind, but is this not missing bounty payouts?

https://www.eveonline.com/article/prg4uv/monthly-economic-report-april-2019 has it, but this does not.

This was my fault, forgot to publish the grid and barchart.

It's included now.

Sucks to read, and I'm sorry you are going through this. It's such an invasion of your privacy that I think your EVE accounts, albeit dear to you, might be the least of your concerns...

What makes this even more annoying is that the hacking of your EVE account is driven by demand for RMT goods in EVE. So your fellow capsuleers buying ISK at discounted rates from turdburglars on the internet (Yeah I'm looking at you, a-few-hackers-I-literally-know-by-name).

This is a great tip

It's something we've talked about internally for a long time and something that both myself and u/ccp_peligro have advocated for :)

There's a lot of gaming companies that do this, it was first kicked off by Wargaming on WoT if I remember correctly.

Honestly EVE could have a very modest moba mode/tournament

I always wanted to see a 9 lane 3D moba mode for Valkyrie with rogue drones as lane minions and sentry guns/npcs as merc camps/ jungle monsters haha

Honestly though, I think it'd have been way too complicated :P

Most games companies love to hear that people are getting addicted to their games - we'd prefer that you keep a healthy balance and that you make sure you're taking care of yourself <3

EVE is always gonna be here when you want to log in and play - always remember that.

True that it's persistent and a bit of a rat race, but if there's anything I've learned in 17 years of being part of the community - don't lose sleep over it.

Make sure that you take care of yourself and get an adequate amount of rest. Make sure you're staying well fed and are tending to those around you too.

Don't stress, so long as you've got a skill training, you're not losing out.

EVE is about the long game, not rushing to get things done.

Enjoy your time in New Eden - sounds like you're having a blast already, but remember to take it in moderation, and take good care of yourself <3

Currently working on it right now.

All player presentations are slotted finalized, just waiting on confirmation from EVE North that they've all accepted.

CCP presentations are all confirmed too, just waiting on meeting with a couple of the presenters on Tuesday to finalize things as Monday is a national holiday in Iceland.

Megablog will be drafted Monday/Tuesday, and most likely released late Tuesday early Wednesday :)
