Secrets of the Obscure Launch Week: Thank you!

Hello everyone, All of us on the Guild Wars 2 team want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you for making the launch of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure such a success. We planned on having a lot of players in game on day one but you all went above our expectations—we had to spin up additional servers and crank out extra serial keys beyond our already-ambitious estimates to accommodate the influx. It was a huge thrill to enjoy the first impressions of so many people seeing the expansion for the first time. For the next few weeks, our focus is on continuing to listen to your feedback in and out of game and ensuring the stability of new content and features. We have shipped two hotfixes to address issues you have let us know about, another is planned for today, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for additional major issues through next week. You're right about the Elixir - for years I've thought it was usable year-round since it doesn't really do anything that the Lens doesn't, but it was recently pointed out to me that it's still restricted to April Fools. I'd like to clean that up, but it might have to wait until next April Fools' to allow for some safety checks.

I think the cat you're looking for is in Hoelbrak, browsing around the rest area next to the Trading Post.

@LolzImSquishy.4978 I'm really glad you're enjoying SotO! I want to thank you for sharing that you like the expansion--the good feedback is necessary to hear so we know what people like and want more of, plus I'm gonna be real honest: It's fun to read. 🙂 Criticism is absolutely needed as well though--it's part of how we keep making the game better and better--so I also want to thank those of you who are taking your time to constructively outline what you want to see improved, and let you know that I am continuing to read through a lot of feedback and pass it to various teams. I appreciate all of you who are contributing constructively!

The hotfix that went live a few minutes ago contains a fix for this. Once you update your game client the issue should be resolved!

Bug Fixes: Fixed a server crash. Fixed a client crash. Fixed an issue that prevented players who were defeated while banished during the meta-event in Amnytas from using several of the special action skills until after changing maps. Fixed an issue that prevented Kryptis enemies from disappearing after event completion. Fixed an issue that caused the /bless emote to play when using /shiver. Fixed an issue that prevented players from receiving the Skywatch Archipelago: Hero's Choice Chest. Added the ability to unlock the Beacon of Ages waypoint from Lion's Arch and Gendarran Fields for players who completed the second chapter of the Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure story but could not connect to Skywatch Archipelago. Yes, this is them! Hamm is exploring the south side of the Grand Piazza in Lion's Arch! Make sure you have one of the Chatoyant items active.

KayleeBear is roaming near the Song Bower in the Grove, on the top level! That's near the Diving Goggles location as an additional landmark.

Every cat this year is also in the hub map of Secrets of the Obscure!
