NOTE: The issue should be resolved.

IF YOU ARE IN GAME. Wait for the "reconnecting" timer to end, and it should automatically reconnect to the database.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN GAME. Restarting the game will reconnect.

We will continue to monitor, sorry for the disruption.

Note I have managed to get all the way in on the drop. We see some issues, but it seems once I got in on a drop everything is fine.

It might be worth restarting the game to see if you can get back in.

To confirm - i can't connect, so I am experiencing it as well. We are looking into it right now, and I will post back details. If you are ingame, you can keep playing, and once back online your progress should be saved once reconnect is made. If you are not, you will just have to sadly wait or play in offline mode.

Sorry folks, working on this as fast as we can.

UPDATE 4am NZST.

We are working on the issue now. Whole system is down while we reboot, it's just safer that way. It was only affecting a few nodes, so some local reboots got many people at least one save. But some none - so we have to fix it. Sorry folks will keep you updated.

UPDATE 4:40am NZST

The outage is "resolved" for now.

I put inverted quotes because we have a strategy that treats the symptoms (and gets us back online), but it doesn't solve the root cause - which we don't know yet.

So at the very least, we can continue to fix this if it crops up again.... Read more

We are exploring adding player run dedicated servers, and other changes, that will better support this kind of play. We have a rough prototype of this running, and will provide more info in future devblogs.

When you 'Remove from Prospects' it will only retain your Workshop items. As usual, you can't take items you've crafted during a mission back up into orbit with you.

Hey Everyone,

A few of our players are experiencing issues with their loadouts and items disappearing on their oldest characters when embarking on a drop. This is a serious concern for us and is currently our top fix priority. We are attempting a solution for this problem before our next patch drops, as part of this you may experience some disconnections.

For those who have been affected by this issue, you are able to rescue your items by using the debug 'Remove From Prospect' button if your character is still on the drop and you have not left via dropship. There's a fine line between realism and 'balance' which can be difficult to navigate, so there are situations where some logical expectations don't line up with what is actually experienced. This unfortunately, is just one of the realities of developing a game structure that we have to navigate and it doesn't always feel right, but is imperative for us to keep the core of the experience fluid.

The bullets is a great example, logically you'd be able to make 10-20 bullets out of a single ingot, but this would absolutely shatter the scalability of the systems and therefore, has to be managed in a way that doesn't align with what players expect.

Realism is important to us, but 'fun' is even more important and that sacrifice is one we don't like to make, but will make whenever it's required.

as part of our new "insurance" changes, a default value got pushed out that is different and is causing these issues. We will deploy that change on our backend, and cleanup any issues with a script. What i means is all prospects currently have "insurance" by default, even though they do not, leaving the client and backend at odds to the real state. Apologies - it's a complicated rollout for this weeks update. Will keep you all posted and please contact me if you have lost a character.

We have I think at least seven more crash fixes coming in this weeks update. Very sorry for the trouble. We will be listing the crash fixes specifically in their own section in the changelog. Again - very sorry for the trouble hope this is fixed in this weeks update.

Try putting a over-hang or “floor” piece above the glass, it’ll help protect it.

We are deploying a hotfix that addresses 5 serious crash issues shortly, will post more soon. Sorry for the inconvenience I know crashes are really frustrating.

Yes, we're working on a fix for this and chasing the developer of the game audio system that Icarus uses.

In the meantime a temporary workaround seems to be to play Icarus in windowed mode (not full screen). Does that work for you?

We're performing some database maintenance this morning at 11AM NZT (~30 minutes from now). We don't expect any downtime, but it may close existing connections. Your game should just reconnect automatically, but if you do experience any issues quitting the game and relaunching should put you right back where you left off.
