No it won't. But the 10% pre-order discount will be extended to a 10% launch discount for the first week when we launch.

Hi Jayson! I'll ask our friends at NVIDIA, not sure why it disappeared from the list. But yes, the plan is for Icarus to be fully supported on GFN for the Beta Weekends and from launch and beyond.

Try GF Now now.

It appears once our Beta Weekend officially begins (5pm Fri PST). The experimental build which some people accessed early isn't on GFN. You were just too keen ;-)

Hey! Totally hear your concerns, can promise they're not being ignored and gutted to hear you feel communication has been lacking! We definitely strive to be as open and collaborative as possible (hence the feature upvote system, which provides us with a ton of our bug fixes) but as you can imagine with a wildly successful Beta Weekends system, we've suddenly got thousands more feedback reports to go through, and it's a lot!

There are definitely tickets such as the 'nodes stuck in walls' one that we are hyper aware of, but working in 2 week sprint cycles for development means we do have to prioritize which tickets we should focus on, so if a bug isn't dramatically impeding gameplay, it will usually get put into a future sprint. The nodes is a great example of this, while there are some issues with their collision, they're still majority mineable, and therefore are a 'nuisance' rather than a 'gamebreaker'.

The Beta Weekends are also all about testing core featur... Read more

Sorry, we won't have Italian ready at launch but we might add it next year. We've had a few community members offer to help us out with translation too, so wait and see!

We are planning to have some other European and Asian languages available for launch though.

The game is loading while the video is playing.

People's PCs load at different speeds, so some people can skip after a few seconds and some people have to wait longer. It's intended to be less annoying that a blank loading screen.

NumPad 9 hides the UI.

You can change this in the Settings too.

As always we've made a bunch of key bug fixes and QOL improvements since the last Beta Weekend. This list doesn’t reflect every change, but gives you an idea of where our effort has gone.

Many of these bugs were reported by you on Feature Upvote[icarus.featureupvote.com], please report any new issues you find there.

Read our Prepare for Beta Weekend Five blog post here.

GENERAL

Q: When is Icarus’ launch date?

A: Icarus is projected to launch this December.
You can play earlier by taking part in our Beta Weekends beginning from 28 August.
Note: Our launch date will move if we deem it necessary for the game's success. We will have a better idea of our launch date as we listen to your feedback during our series of Beta Weekends! (see more information below)

Q: With the launch date change, will the 10% pre-order discount still be applied in the same way?

A: Yes. Our 10% discount for Pre-orders still applies now and lasts up until one week after Icarus' full launch.

Q: Can I upgrade my Pre-order from the Standard Edition to the Supporters Edition?
A: This will become available shortly. In the meantime our best solution is for you to refund the Standard Edition and purchase the Supporters Edition. We apologize for the inconvenience around this.

Q: All Pre-orders receive an in game ... Read more

Hotfix rev v0.7.0.79766-rel-BetaWeekend4 is now available which addresses the following known issues that weren't addressed in the first hotfix:

FIXED:
- Can sometimes keep the undergrounder debuff even after you leave a cave.
- Deployables in bases being damaged by storms even while fully sheltered.
this is impossible for us to resolve for the weekend, so we've had to disable storm damage to deployables. Structures will still take damage in storms.

Known but unresolved:
- Occasionally unable to craft or rest due to not being in shelter, despite being in a closed structure or a cave. WORKAROUND: Restarting the prospect by returning to character select will resolve this issue.

@Cutter - Yes that's absolutely how the Beta is supposed to work ;-) We're constantly improving the game's stability and performance. When we've worked on those issues do come back and check Icarus out post-launch.

@AussieChamp - I'd like to correct your misinformation. RocketWerkz has never abandoned any EA games. The only other EA game we have is Stationeers, which has been updated almost every month.

Yes you can skip the intro video - after 5 to 10 seconds.

The game itself is loading while the video is playing, so you can't skip the very start. However, yes a skip button has been suggested so you know when you can skip.

Just as a note, we have plans to extensively add things for solo players. You will notice a number of improvements for solo players this beta weekend (which is live early, as in right now). Death run, leaving gear behind perm, adding a marker.

For future beta weekends we will be extensively expanding the solo talent tree, which will be very useful for solo players.

We worked with Valve to configure the beta so it is run on a different Application Id within the Steam system. This means that time spent on the beta, does not count towards time played with Icarus. Additionally this means that Icarus is still considered a preorder.

This is important, because it means you can refund the game at *any* time during the beta process. We make a great deal of change every two weeks, which means the game is evolving. It might not always evolve in the direction someone who got into the game in Beta Weekend 1 would like.

Remember that we don't all like the same things, and that's what makes the world interesting. Not everyone game will interest everyone. Please be respectful of each others opinions - there is nothing wrong with someone not liking the game and wanting to refund it.
