So how in-depth is this essential part of survival?

What effects will lack of nutrition/hydration have on the character or character skills?

Will meat need to be cooked?
Will water need to be purified?
Will injuries need to be treated with more detail then simply using a "medi-pack?"

Any insight as to how deep survival goes would be much appreciated.
We have a lot of Steam Posts on the way, yet to be written, including Buffs, Debuffs, Elemental effects and what have you!

We are an independent studio and have a small team. Currently we can only pump out maybe 2 Steam posts a week with the current workload.

Thanks for understanding :)

Or is it just when the beta will get patched
You will only be able to play Icarus during our Beta Weekends. We have a steam post coming shortly, explaining in more detail :)

We're organising for this to be extended 7 days beyond our launch date as promised. However, it seems our contacts at Steam/Valve are OOO so there might be a slight period of the sale not being there before it's implemented again.

Hi there!

You can always play by yourself, Icarus is designed to be enjoyed playing solo OR with a group of friends :)

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Have you pre-ordered the game? See how it runs on our first beta weekend and let us know!

but that is not the route this game is taking. so be it. we'll wash our hands of it then. there's so many other games to play that are not charging for every bit of content.
Hi there,

Icarus' base game will have free content updates. We do not want players to miss out on the core experience that Icarus, the base game, offers.

Yes we are charging for our DLC's (so far there are just two). This will help us continue to develop Icarus into the foreseeable future. DLC's generally come at a cost. Keep in mind that yes we... Read more

Will I be able to enjoy Icarus on my machine?
Below is a guide on our Minimum and Recommended Specs, and how Icarus may run on your machine should you meet these.

Minimum Specs:
These are the lowest specs in which you will be able to enjoy Icarus without too much compromise on quality.

Currently:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel i5 8400
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 70 GB available space

Our minimum specs are player-focused, granting the ability to run Icarus on low to mid end graphics settings. We acknowledge that many folks are still running GTX 1060 cards and so we have ensured Icarus will play on these GPUs to the best of its ability. Anything below these specs, we unfortunately cannot attest for.

Recommended Specs:
These are the recommended specs for you to experience Icarus at ideal ... Read more

Cooperating as a team is integral to everyone’s survival on Icarus, especially towards end-game content. Assigning specific duties or roles to each player with their relevant skill set could be the difference between dying from thirst, starvation, exposure, spontaneous animal attacks -- or a majorly successful Prospect where everyone reaps the rewards and makes it out alive.

Preparing your team for a triumphant Prospect
The value of a well thought-out Talent and Tech Tree can be everything when playing in a crew. Having an array of unique skills across each player in your team will benefit everyone!

Depending on how many people are in your cohort, “gathering as you go” is always a safe option to ensure everyone can cover themselves in the event of a tight-squeeze or surprise. Allocating the core tasks like Mining, Hunt... Read more

While there is no exclusive "PVP" mode, there is "friendly-fire" in Icarus currently.

We have more specs coming in from NVIDIA once they have completed their testing.
However, Icarus *is* a graphically beautiful game which does require a decent graphics card, before loss of quality ensues.

If you're testing Icarus during our beta weekends, definitely let us know what card you are using, and give us your feedback!

Hi Medium Gap,

Dean was unwell yesterday. As for the snow - our allocated time for these streams are 1 hour, it takes a while to prepare to head over that way and ensure we can survive there. We do want to show more of the snow biome, and perhaps a small portion of the desert, and will in time, but we do want to be mindful that folks wish to experience some of the game for themselves as well.

We are about to head into a beta later this month, so our community can help us with testing, ensuring that any bugs or stability issues are reported, allowing us to get the game ready for launch come November.

Thanks for your feedback on the streams. We know there is a demand to show *more more more* but it's good to keep in mind that not many other indie studio's show or share as much as we have in this streaming format, it isn't well navigated ground and we are doing our best with what we've got :D

Thank you!
