Is Worlds just on display everywhere at Riot HQ? Do you get in trouble for watching it at work?

Well, I'm in Europe right now, so I am working from home. I told my manager today that no work is gonna get done when EU is playing and he was like lol yeah that's fine.

At least in my team (information security in dublin) it's something of an annual ritual to enjoy worlds together. Most of us really enjoy watching it.

in the Dublin office, Worlds is tradtionally on all of the screens when it's broadcast at EU-friendly times and, no, no one gets "in trouble" for watching it - it's a cultural thing, but in addition people are trusted to use their time wisely and do the work they commit to on time without micro-management. My boss doesn't care if I am watching worlds at work as long as I get all my sprint work done each sprint.

I stepped away during draft phase for a 30 minute meeting which ran over to 34 minutes and T1 finished the game before I finished my meeting. bruh.

I loathe Yuumi's existence. The cat needs to be burned in an oil fire.

I was more referring to the ~53% winrate of Blitzcrank vs Yuumi :P Blitzcrank dunks Yuumi lanes (in solo queue)

But man.. It must be bad, whatever it is, and it makes me feel SOOO bad for Upset. Its his first worlds, and we all know how much he waited, fought for and deserved a worlds appearance. Now he has that interrupted, by possibly a tragedy, and he'll probably feel guilty for leaving his team too even tho he ABSOLUTLY SHOULDNT.

f**king hell, I wish him the best, whatever that may be.

100% agree. For him to decide to leave Worlds it must be something quite impactful. Hope all is ok. Take my energy Upset.

Well, that explains what I just started looking into. Thanks.

Would you happen to know which patch this was introduced as a bug, too, btw?

Around March sometime I believe. It's not really a common strategy to cs with support item, so probably took a while to catch it.

And it actually makes sense ngl. If i wass a newbie and heard "healing reduction" i would think its stackable too

Yeah I thought the switch to Healing Reduction was a slam dunk and then a smarter designer than me pointed it out. So there you have it! I did however add a description of Grievous Wounds to a the items that apply it, so I got that much. 🙂

Bellissimoh :Riot: Mentioned it before, it’s not on any of our immediate roadmaps. Things have changed a lot during the last year of quarantine. Honestly a bit of a flub on my end to allude to it so prematurely.

It’s this. Announcers are not on any immediate roadmaps for now.

So uh... I regret to inform you that Shard of True Ice not giving minion penalty is not intended. It was fixed recently, but not as a result of this video. Sorry for nerfing your strategy :(

One of our designers accidentally removed it for Shard only while doing a rescript :(

I love this thread! I proposed doing the same thing as I worked on the item tooltips last year. However. Other designers pointed out that "Healing reduction" sounded like it could stack, whereas a champ can only have 1 "Grievous wounds" debuff on them at once (taking the most severe one as priority). This is why.

Great question!

We agree and are looking to update the desktop design soon to take more advantage of the size.

For context, the overall code base was updated to make pick’em friendly to mobile users (old pick’em was a nightmare outside of desktop).

Keep the feedback coming!

One thing to consider is which version are we playing on? A player who started, say, in 2017 and is Challenger now probably has no idea what S2 league was like in terms of minion damage, jungle routes, time to kill objectives, or even some of the champ kits.

Additionally there is something to be said in terms of teamwork and prep time. So the rando Challengers have time to gel as a team or just a random show match on a whim?

If it's taking TPA or something vs a team of modern challenger players on a patch none of them played on that much where the challenger players had a week to practice, then it wouldn't be close IMO the challengers would win. Even without practice I think it's close but still the challengers.

It’s hilarious when a Tie happens in the NFL and the players are like wait that’s possible? Yeah. You’re a ten year bet it’s possible.

It's interesting because I am ABSOLUTE GARBAGE at knowing formats/schedules for anything but everytime I talk to a pro player at the LCS they always know who they're playing and around playoffs the tiebreaker scenarios as well if it's relevant to them.

They're actually one of the more reliable sources for schedule/format at least around LCS regular season. Maybe international is just a different beast though.

This is awesome. Fun fact: Alex Seaver, the guy who wrote the vocals and lyrics of this song, is a Juilliard Hall trained French Horn player. I believe he once played in the brass section of one of our orchestral recording sessions.

So in a way, your version of this song is the truest of them all.

But why are Assassins a special case lol?Shouldn't you be treating each class relatively similarly instead of allowing one class to egregiously stack something without Tradeoff?

ADC's can't stack AS and Lifesteal without losing out on damage, mages don't even HAVE the option to stack AH and utility anymore, and Tanks need to juggle resistances, HP and damage without becoming irrelevant.

Mages aren't weak but they feel HORRIBLE to play and I'd argue they feel the worst too play in league then in any other game in the MOBA genre right now.

Moba like Smite and Dota provide mages with SO MANY options and variety. There's Attack speed mages, DPS mages, burst, battle, etc. But in League, they're majority burst orientated with 1 to 2 alternate options for specific champs.

I don't understand Riot's weird obsession with giving fighters and bruisers a wide variety of items constantly meanwhile mages literally just have a collection of stack stick items.

Assassins are a special case because they are the class with the highest amount of burst damage. Each class has different intended strengths and weaknesses, different player profiles and preferences which is why classes are treated differently.

honest question, but doesnt that seem completely backwards to you? Assassin class champions, historically, were looking to dump their spells and kill a target, while Mages are looking to run through multiple rotations in a fight. yet here we hare, giving assassins access to even more AH, while 2 of the mage options are limited to defense items, and the third can only be built second item or later, with no benefits besides just more AH.

to me, that seems backwards from how it "should" be, where Mages are making hard choices and sacrificing their itemization for what was originally one of their key stats, while assassins are getting even more given to them.

Are you suggesting that assassin items should have more power in Burst damage and less in AH? The entire point of AH on assassins is that it draws out their combat pattern, allowing them to still succeed when they land all their spells but not having their one combo instantly kill you. Assassins are getting more AH by intention BECAUSE it reduces the amount of burst damage they need to deal in first rotation and sustain their power level.

As for mages, it's fine to give them a choice between Burst damage and ability haste. One of the issues with s9/10 itemization was that mages were maxed out on cdr by item 2 every game, which isn't a desirable state. I don't agree with the notion that the majority of AP items should have AH if that's what you're suggesting. They have a solid baseline with mana Mythics haste and can go Lucidity or transcendence if they choose. Then they can choose between damage, defense or haste.
