TRADE PASTRYTIME FOR HYSTERICS!
I know we're both Australian but I don't think it works that way
Here we go. It's the annual Praise a caster while insulting the others thread
Every year I wonder if maybe this time it'll be different and then next year I wonder the same.
At least we can trust C9 to make it out of groups.
Can Markz stay for more than just play-ins please
I hope so he's GOATED.
Meanwhile PastryTime again used...
I don't wanna badmouth him but he has so many things that need improvement compared to a lot of other casters. Really not a fan of his casting.
I feel like posting a vague obviously negative open ended comment and following up with "[But] I don't wanna badmouth him..." is basically you doing exactly that.
Happy to field your constructive criticism here or in a DM. We all know we're not perfect.
Also important to note that not enjoying someone's casting style is not the same thing as them not being strong enough to cast at this level and as everyone always notes this time of year, slots esp at pbp are extremely limited.
Good people will always miss out sadly.
As a dev, I am watching this thread with great interest and a bag of popcorn.
Read moreI don't think what the other thread is talking about is pocket picks. Pocket picks are definitely still around and show up often. So yes, you're right iconic picks are still around but I think you misunderstand what people mean when they talk about these signature champions of old.
I guess it's hard to relay this to someone who wasn't around in 2012.
Let me use an example. Blitzcrank and Madlife.
Blitzcrank was not a meta champion. Not even close. But against Madlife, Blitzcrank was banned every. single. game. The few times it wasn't banned he was completely smurfing to an insane level.
Blitzcrank was not a "pocket pick" for Madlife. It was way beyond that. Madlife was synonymous with Blitzcrank.
Something like Finn's Kled is a pocket pick. It shows up in the right situations, but no one is completely permabanning Kled every single time Finn is in a game.
With players Froggen, Madlife, Hotshot, the entire discussion b...
Madlife Blitz is overselling it a bit.
I remember when they got 3-0'd in finals and in the post-game interview, the winner said something like, "Yeah, I knew in game 3 they'd try to do something wilder, like Madlife picking Blitzcrank."
They had left it up all series. It clearly wasn't something they were afraid of. Madlife picked it in game 3 and still lost.
Still his pocket pick, though. The crowd cheered when he locked it in.
MonkeyKing still haunts us to this day
too true...
Yes!! Looks so good!!
Haha those character names. I want to say most of those old names for characters that have been in the game since the early seasons are still around in the files somewhere, but have been cleaned up in most cases.
I honestly just want to say thank you to all of you for an AMAZING book. I loved every page, all of you are awesome.
Huzzah!
Hi, Ant. I came to this book for Kalista but was amazed by your expansion on Ryze. May I ask if his entire story arc, mainly his connection with Grael, determined back when he was reworked or did you come up with it while writing the book? What thoughts did you have about him while writing?
His development here was pretty much new stuff for the book - it felt right for him. It was really enjoyable getting to see him (and many of the other characters) in a much earlier era, when he had a very different outlook on the world.
Any plans to write the whole shurima history?
I mean, I'd love to. I really enjoyed fleshing out a tiny bit of Renekton/Nasus's backstory, some years back, as well the really small amount of work I got to do around Azir's story, and what it all could mean going forward for Sivir, etc. Maybe one day!
