u/Reav3 not sure if you’re still checking this thread but if the Yordle has been delayed what does that mean for the next event and specifically Sylas prestige (and the rest of the skinline) assuming he is/was supposed to be in the next event with the Yordle? Is that delayed too?
No events have been delayed as a result of the Yordle moving back
u/Reav3 The roadmap mentions "dark and edgy" champions coming next. Do these refer to the mid lane marksman or the mage?
It was referring to all champions releasing as part of the Ruined King Returns Story, since it's a story revolving around the Shadow Isles all the champs are at least a bit dark and edgy. I was also kind of memeing on myself, since so many players say all we make is either cute or dark/edgy champs

I mean the Worlds drops were a joke and so were the LEC 2021 Spring Split ones, however the EU Masters drops have been good so far not only in what you get but also the timing of said drops so I personally would like to see more of that.

So yordle mage isn't support right? If she isn't, is there a possibility that she can be played support like the way Lux does?
We arnt currently planning for that champ to be duo lane Support/Mid as we just made a champion like that in Seraphine. This one is meant to be purely a mid lane mage, though im sure people will try it, and it may be good?
Not the person you're responding to but past seasons often had teams with cool logos/icons, where maybe the player doesn't know the team but likes how it looks. At least I know a few people who were excited for their legacy icon drops for that reason

Just admit that being “rewarded” Spotify playlists is a joke. Why do you hate people that play your game?
If I hate anyone, it's usually myself for not being a better support in Wild Rift. :) Globally, there were quite a few fans who liked the playlists, which where exclusive to the event last year. Having said that, we're not dropping any playlists for the MSI event this year.
None of what you just said justifies the state of the drop system over the last 12 months.
It's badly deployed and confusing, and as people will always fill in the blanks you leave with their imagination, they end up expecting more than actually arrives.
I'm not bothering with trying 'earn' any drops over MSI (I have enough Spotify playlists thx), and I can't imagine a lot of people will. Why bother?
Honestly it might be better to just cancel drops completely, give it until next year, and do it again properly.
Sorry to hear that. We know we made mistakes, and we fixed a ton of them as we've moved forward. We decided to try and bring something fun to lolesports.com last year during the pandemic and while also working with teams to get our other new games into everyone's hands. A big chunk of that was learning from you all on what was a hit or a miss on our part, like some of the rewards, so we did away with quite a few things and tested out some of the new things with our regional leagues (LEC & LLA come to mind with what they did over split one).
If you would rather not watch on lolesports.com, you don't have to. It's optional, but I love having you watch anywhere you love, because at the end of the day I'm a fan of professional League of Legends and just want to know i'm catching the cool stuff with fellow fans, be they on our site or whatever. Every split and event we work to make it better, or different, or solve an issue. The team and I love it, and we haven't stopped trying...

I see that we have a "chance to score one of these Drops-exclusive Icons" which means it's not guaranteed to collect them all. From that point, a Karma one-trick might watch all the games without receiving the emote and icon tied to her (which is super cool in a collection as a main).

Yep! We're really hoping to get those icons and emotes to as many people as possible, but the drops decide. :) We also hope everyone gets both the icon and emote of the "set", but again, the drops decide.

Interesting! Why 2014? Also, I can look into maybe adding some...when we did the Worlds Anniversary capsules last year at Worlds, we included some of the vaulted and legacy icons from 10 years of pro LOL. We didn't really want to keep going there for drops, but if you all like those things we'll keep looking into it!

One question: do you plan to ever award drops to people watching on youtube?
I like to watch the games on my TV, the youtube app is very fast and easy to use there, while the browser is honestly a PITA. I have my YT account linked to my Riot account, but tbh I don't even remember what the benefits are. It would be great if I could unlock drops from watching directly on youtube, too! (I always watch the youtube stream even from the lolesports site).

We're focused on lolesports.com at the moment because we can do quite a bit more there (with the art and all that). I hear you, though, as someone who personally prefers to have a good game of lol eating up the whole living room on a TV. :) You can use Chromecast to cast from your PC to a screen, which isn't the easiest, but it has worked for us in the past. We are looking at some things to help the couch potato in all of us, just couldn't make anything happen in time for MSI.
How do we only have Qiyana? Do you not consider Nidalee/Neeko as heroic champions from Ixtal, while Zyra and Rengar join Qiyana?
Sorry, I meant more specifically from the Ixtal faction, not champs that reside in the region, like all the ones you mentioned. I mean we want to make another champion from Qiyana's Civilization specifically at some point.
I am super excited for this, and it seems like good news that someone specific is working to have drop moments that make sense. I remember in a similar article before Worlds, similar things were mentioned, for example, a pentakill would mean a drop. In reality, everyone who watched got their pentakill drop a week or so later. I’m glad the system seems fixed, and am looking forward to msi and bagging these emotes!

Yeah, the Pentakill one felt especially bad because we legit had a failure and it didn't go, and it didn't help that it was a SUPER RARE HYPE moment, which was EXACTLY why we made drops in the first place during a once-per-century pandemic. :( We were all super bummed out about it but happy to have been able to get it to everyone regardless.
Is Dr. Mundo basically finished? Seems like he just needs some final polishing.
yeah, we are just finishing up some of his skins. Base Mundo has been done for a bit now (He has a lot of skins though)
