He's a treasure.

Ian is the one writing (most of) the funny bits in the patch notes, yes. The rest of us also write other bits that are not as entertaining (because we're not as funny as Ian).

And you're 100% right that he's a treasure

Hey, thanks for the report! We've looked into this issue generally, and we don't see evidence in our data of players missing Mastery Pass rewards.

If you're still seeing this issue after closing and re-opening the client, please do contact CS ( https://mtgarena-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ) and specify "Account Issues", so they can look into your account directly

This bug made me lose (there was no bug)

It's this sort of thing that really makes my day! (And makes it hurt when there really is a bug, as if it didn't already!). #wotc_staff

You should be fine, yes. That behavior would clearly look non-exploitive in the way we check

Hahaha. That guy's brutal. Fun fact: People think that designers are the people who will be best at a game. False. Always fear QA.

Should i try to not play my convoke Buxton deck until this bug is patched? I had that happen to me right now with Wylie duke atiin hero and don't want to that as exploit. My deck is full of cards who are triggering tapped and convoke is the deck style

Until we get this fixed, I would hold off on playing that deck, unfortunately. Though you might be playing innocently, it could still be exploiting the issue. We are working to fix this soon

When reviewing player records for issues like this, we allow a bit of grace so that players like you describe are not caught up in the search. This isn't about "Zero tolerance; you did it once and you're banned". We look to understand the difference between an innocent player who was surprised by the bug and someone who is clearly exploiting.

It sounds nuanced, but it's not usually hard to tell the difference - Did you use a deck that abuses the bug in 5-10 games with a ~50% winrate? Probably not exploiting then. Did you play 50+ games with a 65% winrate? Yeah, you knew what you were doing.

Why is it ban worthy if it’s in the game and no cheating is required?

As others have said, because exploiting obvious bugs in order to abuse other players is considered cheating, and it is not tolerated. We will use a bit of a grace (won't ban everyone who got even 1 win off a deck like this), but players who are repeatedly using a deck built to exploit this and get an artificially high winrate know exactly what they're doing.

Hey, thanks for the report. We are aware and looking into this issue. We will be scanning data for players exploiting this issue, and we will be temp/perma banning as appropriate.

The other comments are correct once you've finished drafting. You get rewards for what you've won so far.

One time I got sleepy and stopped mid draft (may have even been P1P1), and they fully reimbursed me. Not sure if that is always the case, but might be a thing.

If the event ends and you haven't completed your draft, you should get automatically reimbursed

Not positive either, but I think that's an accurate list

Deck-based weighting applies in Brawl and the Play queues. It is not used at all in any rank queues
