I get that it was pretty cheesy--I actually agree this is how it should have been in the first place--but this is pretty late in the game to be making changes that completely invalidate some builds. And it's not like it's some weird niche case--it's a very common build suggestion here, and I see it brought up all the time. So that means two things: people are going to have their builds broken at a point where I think it would be pretty reasonable to assume that things were... stable is probably too strong a word, but not likely to change dramatically. Second, it means that there is over a year's worth of internet content that recommend something that's not functional. The major sites will probably update their stuff, but I get tons of build advice from reddit posts I find via Google, and people doing the same will likely have no idea that what they're looking at is no longer valid....

No worries, your position is absolutely understandable. It's our bad for not including it in the patchnotes.

As for the rest - the game is still not finished and continues to be updated with more content being produced and old content being repaired and fixed where it's possible. It's a slow process but it's going on (and we'd like to look at balance issues in Crusade too for example).

While I understand it can be annoying for builds and guides to become obsolete, the game has to move forward and give a better experience for the newcomers. If you wish to play with the previous build, you may always choose to stay on an earlier stable version (1.3.7d) or use mods to alter your gameplay to your preferences.

I don't think so. Too niche.

Wow....what an odd yet unnecessary change.

I checked with the gamedesign team, they kept receiving hundreds of reports from people pointing that this was an exploit. After a while they decided to fix it.

Not at all - there's no reason your saves shouldn't work. What the original comment meant was that it's better to delay by a week or two so you they don't miss out on the extra content from the EE.

Most of the extra content is endgame. If you start without EE, it won't be a problem, except for lack of some new UI features it brings. But they aren't crucial for playthrough, just make it more comfortable.

I thought when they asked for dlc feedback on what they should do for WotR during the kickstarter that most ppl would voice similar opinions, especially after kingmaker’s similar styles dlc having mixed reviews, but maybe I’m in the minority. Maybe they just can’t afford to make beefier sized expansions, like The White March from Pillars of Eternity, which royally sucks because this world they’ve brought to life deserves these kinds of dlcs.

There will be more content for the main story in Season Pass 2. Stay tuned :)

... and no new bugs for you Starrok! :P

Some part of it squeezed in earlier, now it has full functionality I believe.

And... I'm almost offended!

Hello, crusaders!

Update 1.4.4g is here! Now, when you start the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, you will see an option to disable the Sink or Swim Mode. This is how we decided to name the Last Azlanti-like mode, where you can use the Abyssal anchors to make a save. If you want to save any time or to have as many saves as you want, please disable this option. We’ve also fixed the issue with the turn-based mode getting stuck.

If you are playing with mods, don’t forget to update them before loading your saves!

Beware of possible plot spoilers below!

Quests
  • After finishing the 3rd DLC in the integration mode, the quest was still active in the journal – fixed;
  • Your companions now arrive faster when you and Greybor confront Horzalah during his personal quest.

Areas
  • A mimic trader could appear on the ship earlier than it was supposed to – fixed;...

You can't. Mythic path has too much of an impact to the story and you simply can't convert it back and forth.
