e: Apparently not. Does sound very similar though.

The way I speak is pretty similar to the accent in parts of the South Island but I’ve lived in Auckland my whole life. I just talk dumb.

This kinda just blew my mind. I love reading these interviews, by the way -- keep them coming!

You may also be interested to know that Gravicius and the Shaper share a voice (Daryl Habraken). Piety and Aisling do too (Penny Ashton).

Thank you for trying, Bex. We appreciate you relaying our thoughts to the team. If I may, could you maybe ask them if possible to make Zerker the rampage class instead when they do the main rework? It fits thematically and there's already good items that have synergy (hopefully not too broken). I think it would work way better than Rage.

Or at the very least, remove/minimize the debuffs of rage because it seems really weird that this is the only ascendancy to have such negative drawbacks as part of it. Every other ascendancy has really nice buffs with little or no drawback at all. Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback. I'll be sure to pass it on.

In Path of Exile: Betrayal we introduced 19 new voice actors which was a huge amount of writing and recording work. We thought this would be a good time to get a behind the scenes look at how the process works!

Betrayal ends at 10am Tuesday 5th of March and our 3.6.0 expansion launches on the 9th of March but the exact time has not been set yet. These are both represented in New Zealand's timezone.

Is this a teaser in and of itself?

I guess that's the fun thing about teasers. You never really know.

Yes!

We’re announcing the 3.6.0 expansion one week from today. I wouldn’t expect substantial teasers before then because the information is currently embargoed with the press. However, once the announcement is out we can let the teasers rain down!

I spoke with the team earlier this week to check in where they’re at with the Berserker Ascendancy. They’ve indiciated that they’re aware of the feedback but won’t be able to squeeze any changes to it into 3.6.0. We are being very vigilant about scoping this expansion out. However, they do have some moderate changes planned for the class in 3.7.0. Naturally, the expansion does include a slew of other balance changes but you’ll just have to wait and see. One week to go!

In Path of Exile: Betrayal we introduced 19 new voice actors which was a huge amount of writing and recording work. We thought this would be a good time to get a behind the scenes look at how the process works! To do so, we've interviewed Nick K, one of our game and narrative designers who created such beloved Path of Exile characters like Einhar, Niko, and more!

Hey Nick, thank you for taking part in the interview! Could you tell us how characters are developed and how voice acting plays a part in that?

Unlike a film or TV show, writing in games often happens towards the tail end of the development process. This is primarily due to the amount of time it takes to put together concept art, turn that into a 3D model, and then get that model game-ready. As a result, it's not uncommon to "see" the character bef... Read more

Bytepath was great. I do think you should check it out sometime, it's an interesting take, but based on what I've seen of your game here, I'd say you're probably right that they're different things. Both have similar moment-to-moment gameplay, and both aiming to have a varieth of builds, but Bytepath had a strong focus on the huge passive tree and pathing through it in different ways. Which was both very cool and also seems to not be a big thing for your game, based on how your upgrade system is shown in the post.

This looks very cool, I'm keen to try it out. I'm particularly interested in playing with your upgrade system and seeing how it works.
