We were made aware of an issue that allowed players' characters to be targeted via Steam and Amazon account linking through malicious links shared on social media. This issue occurs at the RuneScape character level and is not related to Jagex Accounts.
As a purely precautionary measure, in the interest of account security, we have temporarily disabled the ability for players to link their RuneScape characters with Steam and Amazon until further notice. For more information, please see:

External link →I'd take a look again now. We've just applied a hotfix that prevents transmogrifications, resting animations and emotes, placing traps or dropping items in the Ritual area.
Worth mentioning that I'm still very much making further improvements to random events (pathfinding, audio, etc - should be in game by next Monday, some aspects may get hotfixed sooner), this one was just a quick fix for now!
I'd also be interested in people's opinions on the suitability of the new shambling horror animation - this was just the most appropriate animation I could find for now
There's another issue with dodge - if you dodge an attack it doesn't trigger auto-retaliate. Is this possible to be fixed or is it an unfortunate consequence of the dodge system?

- having active bone shield still prevents revolution from working if you have shield abilities on action bar and no runes to use them
- magic flute still doesnt cause ghost rats to follow player

- I dont see anything in patchnotes adressing players spamming darkness invocation-reduce/remove xp or prevent casting if its used while effect has more than 30sec remaining-a...

A reminder that some bosses with multiple phases give wrong xp values:
Queen Black Dragon give xp based on 36k hp (should be 100k hp).
Kalphite Queen give xp based on 40k hp (should be 80k hp).
Kerapac give xp based on 200k hp (should be around 520k hp, which is the real amount of damage you deal during the fight).
Also, enemies and bosses that heal themselves during the fight don't give you higher xp based on the extra damage you deal.

Appreciate it - we're chatting about giving bosses and some mobs a little more 'umph' when it comes to XP, will look to fix these alongside it
Hey, I had a look, this doesn't appear to be a thing. (death skulls doesn't actually attack the player to trigger a dodge) (tested on my dev world when setting dodge to 100% to be sure)
I'd hazard a guess that it could instead be either: you were standing outside of skull range, or boss was immune, setting the skull damage to 0
- As a note we're looking into both of these issues :)

Icthlarin only sticks around long enough to be happy you are being a nice necromancer (and until the medium tasks are complete) - if you need to reclaim a lost Tome of Um, talk to Frank in the building north of Um's pub.
Mimsy is likely just anywhere else in Um - it has a big wander range.
No pathing fixes, or anything to address the disgraceful state of the ritual site content?
- Shambling horror is not visible with so many players, and sometimes doesn't produce a particle effect at all
- Protection Glyphs are content that serve no purpose whatsoever
- Defile random events can reset progress without glowing purple, and some spawns can't even be siphoned because of pathing
I actively avoid rituals because the content is so broken. I understand you can't address everything in a week, but how could you possibly leave such an integral part of the skill in such a mess?

Our dev time last week was spent more on immediate issues and just absorbing core feedback to be worked from this week (or started last week for a future update). We'll be prioritising the most impactful stuff, and Rituals are a core focus of the team to look at as part of that.

This was hotfixed last week so there's no change from what you've been experiencing today.
Necromancy is the most fun I've had playing in a long time, I hope it doesn't end up being balanced around the top 0.1% of players like other combat styles.
Any ETA on fixes for the pathing issues with rituals and events? It's atrocious at the moment if you don't manually move to the event first.
We're definitely aware of the feedback and it's being considered. No ETA to share on any changes in that area, but we may have more concrete news at the end of the week in our next Necromancy Community Update blog.
Any chance of looking into the Saga quest requirements for 'Remains of the Necrolord'?
Nadir is borderline impossible to 100% on mobile & thats the only platform I currently have access to.
Amending the requirement to an initial completion of each required saga rather than 100% completion would be great, as its currently the only thing standing between me & Rasial.
We'll pass that feedback to the team.
