I see no reason for that in that dxdiag, although you may as well update that AMD driver:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

On my nVidia rig it takes about 1:40 with no mods, so comparable to what you see.

If you mean Clear User Directory, you are right - that button is not in the Stellaris launcher now. You can delete all the folders under documents/paradox/stellaris/ except /save games/ , that should have roughly the same effect.

And, my problem is not failed to running the game but just the game not properly quit.
I understand that; the question is why does it happen for you and not me or others?

What if you run the game from the Paradox client instead of Steam?

Do you have any other game that uses that same launcher: Imperator Rome, Planetfall, Prison Architect, EU4 ?

I have seen that with the new launcher, but only when the game failed to run. Not when the game has been properly quit. Hard to see why it is happening to you that way.

What antivirus app do you use?

I don't know how to fully disable oneDrive, I am sorry.

To redirect where the game stores its user files, including mods, place the attached userdir.txt file in the same folder a stellaris.exe - it tells the game to write the user files right there instead of under the Documents folder. If that works you can replace the dot in that file with any file path you prefer.

I frankly don't know anything about mods themselves or what should or should not be in the .json files. Hard to understand why the same mod works for me but not you though.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- unsubscribe from ALL mods in the Steam workshop
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations,... Read more

I just tried the mod "US Overhaul Dynamic - extended topbar" and it loaded and worked fine for me. Can you . try JUST that one and see if it works?

If not, are your Steam installation, the Steam Library that this game is installed in, and your Windows User folders all on the same volume?

Do you have access to any other computer to do a test install on? This is to determine if it's local to that one computer, or maybe some weird account issue or something.

SIMAS V said: you know, I actually noticed that earlier. I simply closed the client and re-opened it and the yellow update dot did not come back.
If you'd hovered the cursor over that yellow dot it would have said to do exactly that.

Anyway back to the DLC problem (which BTW I still have no other reports of!). It is unchanged I assume?

I suppose you may as well opt into 2.5.1 - "stellaris_test" in the Steam betas tab.

If still no good I frankly do not understand what is happening here! If you revert to sat 2.3.3 is it okay? ... Read more

That image shows your launcher has an update due. Is there something stopping it from updating?

Go to Steam/steamapps/common/stellaris/dlc/ . Are all the DLCs physically present there? There should be a folder with two or three files in it for each one.

Sorry, can't see any of those images.

I suggest you enable CFA, add stellaris.exe to the Apps Allowed Through. Then go to Steam/steamapps/common/stelaris and delete the whole DLC folder, AND go to Documents/paradox/stellaris and delete the dlc_signatures file.

Then run a Steam Verify operation against the game, then try the game.

What antivirus do you use? Are you sure you executed that step in my instructions successfully?

Sneakytiki said: Odd, all the new paradox games are missing "d3d9.dll" copied from system32 to the main game folder and they work again.
That's not at all normal - we'd know if everyone saw that!

Maybe a dx9 or system path issue?

First check that your computer's time is correctly set from the internet, seen a few cases like that causing the launcher install or update to fail.

Also seen some reports that running Steam as the Admin user can help ... !
