Our Linux and Steam Deck player are having issues that our Dev team is working to resolve. In the meantime, players have reported that starting Steam, disabling the internet, then loading the game bypasses the crashing issue. Internet can be reenabled afterwards.

The team is aware and is working on resolutions for the crashing issues on Mac. In the meantime, you can roll back to a previous version in order to play:

Click Stellaris, Properties, Betas tab and choose 3.9.3 from the dropdown.

Greetings!

Stellaris 3.10.0 “Pyxis” and the Astral Planes Narrative Expansion released last Thursday, and it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride, so I moved this week’s dev diary a bit earlier than usual.

Due to an error we made in metadata, many players were unable to verify ownership of the DLC at launch. We pushed a quick hotfix, which resolved these issues for some players, while also introducing a different ownership issue through a checksum error, which prevented other people from being able to properly explore the expansion. We finally managed to fix all of these problems midday on Friday. I want to thank everyone who provided bug reports and helped us diagnose th... Read more

Hello Stellaris Community,

Shortly after the release of Astral Planes yesterday, we began receiving reports of players being unable to verify ownership of the new DLC. These reports began as a sporadic issue that gradually worsened as the time passed since release. About an hour after release, the Dev Team identified a configuration issue with the Astral Planes DLC and put together a new build that we believed would resolve this issue for players.

Unfortunately, while this build resolved the DLC Ownership issue for the vast majority of players, there were some players that this fix did not work for, with a higher proportion of those players being Linux and MacOS users. The Stellaris team has spent today digging into the DLC Ownership issue, and working on potential solutions.

We believe that we have now found the root cause of the DLC Ow... Read more

Yep

Ugh, that's disappointing! I don't have any additional steps you can try, but I'll let our team know. Thanks for your patience!

Originally posted by TeamLoad: It doesn’t work, as I already said in the comments under the news about the release of the DLC, it’s not displayed for me only in the game, that is, in the launcher everything is displayed for me that was purchased and installed, as well as turned on.

I have personally worked to troubleshoot this issue, so I know what you're seeing, alas. Please Verify your game files in Steam (right click Stellaris in your library -> Properties - Installed Files -> Verify), then exit Steam, and run Steam as an administrator.

Verifying the files will re-sync with the latest version of the game, and should resolve the issue. If it does not, you can try running the Launcher's beta version (Under Launch... Read more

Originally posted by whereisscott: Yeah, there's no option to "run as admin" when you right click on programs with a Mac. It's just not there in the dropdown menu. From what I understand, if you're the only user on a Mac, you're automatically the Admin and programs automatically run at that permission level (but let me know if I'm getting this wrong).

Running a File as Administrator on Mac:
Locate the file you want to run as an administrator.
Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click on the file.
From the context menu, select "Open" while still holding down the "Control" key.
If prompted, enter your administrator credentials.

Originally posted by whereisscott: I'm the only user on my Mac, so I'm already the Admin (sorry, didn't make it clear I was on a Mac). Confirmed in the Permission for Steam that this is being run with full read/write permissions.

I'm not sure if it's the same for Mac as on a Windows machine, but even though I'm the admin/only user on my machine, I still need to do the "run as admin" thing for certain actions (some unrelated to gaming). Can you try it and let me know?

This is normal. We keep only one rollback branch in the 3.9.X series.

Originally posted by whereisscott: It was running fine for me until the hotfix that just was issued. Now it's saying the DLC is missing and I can't open my savegame file. I've verified the game, but the issue is persisting.

After verifying the files, can you please right-click Steam and run as administrator, and let me know if that resolves your issue?

We just deployed a fix for the ownership verification for Astral Planes. If you had those issues, we ask you to verify Stellaris Game files.

In order to do so, right click on Stellaris on your library, then Properties, Local Files and Verify Game Files.

Additionally, there are another couple of steps you can take:

-- Right click Steam, click "Run as Administrator", check the DLC ownership through the game.
-- (In Windows) Go to Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall Paradox Launcher V2, then relaunch the game through Steam.

We want to thank all the affected players for their reports, in particular those who helped us troubleshooting the issue on Discord. If you continue having issues, please let us know!

Are you able to start a new game, and if so, is the Riftworld origin available to select?

Thanks for the assistance.

Edit: Looks like everything's working now, so, uh, never mind! Have fun!

Our team says that the launcher may be taking some time to update -- as long as your "additional content" page has updated and shows ownership of Astral Planes, you will have access to the new DLC.

Originally posted by Lucullo: I too have this problem. I verified the files and restarted Steam a couple of times but it is still there.
However, the "unable to verify ownership" flag appears only in the launcher (DLC tab) while the "addtional content" page says "owned".
I've not yet tried playing.

Our team says that the launcher may be a little wonky, but as long as the "additional content" page has updated, you will have access to the new DLC.

@avilob and @Xentor, can you confirm that you have updated to 3.10.0, and are not using an older branch of the game?
