We’ve finally shared a first look at our third faction, the Celestial Armada, with the public.

We’ve also announced that Stormgate Early Access will begin on August 13. We’re even kicking things off on July 30 as a show of our appreciation to our Kickstarter backers, playtesters, and new Steam supporters.

With so much excitement building around the game, we think it’s about time for another AMA!

We’re bringing together a bunch of our devs to answer your burning questions here on r/Stormgate this coming Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:00-11:00 AM PDT / 1:00-2:00 PM EDT / 7:00-8:00 PM CEST.

August 13 is the START of Early Access, not the end.

July 30 is the kickoff of a sneak preview period, but Early Access officially begins on August 13.

Some of the items here will NOT be sold in the in-game shop and are only available in these bundles.

This includes the Firestorm Fog of War Shader, the Gold Vanguard Army Accent, and the Chicken Pet.

You can play 3P co-op vs. AI with your friends at Early Access release on July 30-August 13.

3v3 will be coming later in development sometime during Early Access.

Stormgate is free-to-play. Play on August 13 for free and decide after you've got your hands on it whether you want to support our development by purchasing campaign content or unlock hero progression, etc.

If you just want to queue for 1v1 or play 3P co-op with friends, you can do that for free.

You'll be able to play with all of the Heroes in the game for free. Purchasing them unlocks progression (similar to how it worked for SC2 co-op commanders).

We have three free "prologue missions", in addition to the Vanguard campaign missions that are available for purchase.

Not an expert on this topic, but this is a fascinating discussion and something I will be sharing with our team internally as we discuss approachability and ways to make our game more accessible overall. Thanks for kicking this off.

We are super committed to campaign, and look forward to releasing new campaign missions for years to come. We hope you’ll have fun with our initial batch of campaign missions and be sure to help us make them even better during Early Access by providing feedback. Player feedback has been a huge part of getting our core gameplay and factions to where they are today and I expect that campaign will similarly be improved by leaps with the support of our players.
