Hi Developers: Any chance you could provide clarification regarding the maps of stormgate? For example, wondering if community members will be able to create maps, and if so, whether there will be a discussion channel dedicated to mapmakers, and if they can organize map related tournaments within the platform and whether community made maps could be adopted into stormgate ladder or tournament map pools, etc.
We will definitely have an editor (released after Early Access launch) for modders to make maps and eventually custom games, etc.
We're excited about the editor, as several members of our team members got their start in game dev as Warcraft 3 and SC2 modders.
We are intimately familiar with those editors having worked on them and can't wait to get our latest editor out there, though it's going to be a while. It will put the tools we're using to make the game into players' hands, only with a more intuitive interface that includes a visual scripting language.
As for discussion channels, we'll have a Discord, so I presume that we'll have a room dedicated to modders. I expect that the existing modding communities will also continue to exist, because they're awesome. There's a long history of community maps being used to expand tournament pools. I don't have details to share here, but I don't see why we'd want to change that.
I always like the surprise of a reveal and everything that’s involved, but I actually really like this expectation setting. It’s nice to be excited to see what is going to be shown without being disappointed by something like not seeing the third faction. Much appreciation for this post Stormgate!

If i signed in for the closed beta today, can i still get an invite?
You won't get an invite to the beta phase starting on December 5, but you may get an invite to future beta tests. It also can't hurt and you'll get our newsletter, which I try to pack with information.
Part of why we're launching a Kickstarter is to offset the costs of inviting more beta testers. If you want to guarantee that you'll get into closed beta in 2024, I'd ask you to consider supporting the studio by becoming a Founder.
Towards the end of EA probably, as they will only start to announce them early next year.

The reason why old-school Blizzard game boxes always included a Blizzard notepad is because Allen Adham (the original founder who brought on Mike Morhaime and Frank Pearce) felt that a box with just a disc inside felt too light and flimsy, not like a good value. So they added the notepads, various promo flyers, cool game manuals, etc., to make it feel like you were getting something substantial at retail vs. other PC games.

/u/FGS_Gerald Are the founders pack only exclusive for kickstarter, how about countries with no kickstarter support? I hope we are also able to support the game by buying Founders pack in Steam too just like how other Founders pack in other games like VRising, etc. I hope the marketing team consider.
You will be able to purchase the digital Founder's Pack via Steam, but it will not include certain exclusive Kickstarter rewards like closed beta access. (Valve is an important partner for us and their policy is that beta access for Early Access games can only be delivered to players as part of a crowdfunding campaign.)
We also won't be able to sell collector's edition boxes and statues through Steam, but I guess you knew that already!

I signed up as soon as I could, filled out the survey on three emails, AND wish listed on steam etc. My brother, who didn’t wish list, didn’t fill out the survey, and only signed up on one email, received an invite to the beta this morning 😒

Our game director joked earlier that we landed in the uncanny valley right between two of the greatest RTS games of all time, so mission accomplished!
