Carbot has been an amazing BFF to Frost Giant Studios since our earliest days. We are honored that, in addition to designing our awesome Frost Giant logo, he dedicated time to creating this adorable plush version of his adorable Yeti mascot.

This guy's dangerously cute--many of our own employees have purchased several for their kids (and themselves!)

Steam Next Fest is here and we're thrilled to have you join us to play the first-ever public demo of Stormgate! The Steam Next Fest demo includes full access to the current closed beta phase, codenamed "Elephant." (Each Stormgate playtest build is named after a classic RTS unit, in alphabetical order.)

Here are some key insights into the current game state and what you can look forward to during the playtest.

How to Play With Friends
While our party system is still under construction, you can easily play with friends by creating custom games, either public or private, and sharing the Lobby ID. Crush that smack-talkin' Major Galt together in our 3P co-op map, WRECK HAVOC!

How Do I Get Gud?

Faction stats from last 2 days of play (link in comments)

Super cool stats! My theory/interpretation of these winrates that they are currently skewed towards players who are experiencing the game for the first time.

For early-game, Brute/Gaunt pushes are extremely powerful if you don't know the exact reactions, but I see them as less of an issue at higher levels. (Note that this doesn't mean that new Vanguard players dying so early on isn't a big issue.)

As for late-game, I've been hearing that both factions have extremely powerful tools, but the Vanguard ones are generally a bit easier to use (Deployed units + Vulcans vs Weavers/Imps/Hellbornes)

I'd be curious to see what the stats say for players above certain MMRs/RPs!

Never played an RTS before.. but have interest in Stormgate when it comes out. Should I just wait for SG or is there something I should play that will help me learn in the mean time?

In addition to playing the Stormgate beta during Steam Next Fest, you should consider playing StarCraft II. Many of our team members worked on it and it's been able to withstand the test of time.

AppleID issue: FG recommended I update my email on Kickstarter

Quick update: We have steps for you to take to update your email. Do this ASAP.

  • Go to 'Settings' on your iPhone
  • Select your name & Apple ID settings
  • Select 'Sign-in & Security'
  • Select 'Sign in with Apple'
  • Select 'Kickstarter'
  • Select 'Stop Using Apple ID'
  • Go to Kickstarter App and Log Out
  • Select 'Sign up or Log in'
  • Select 'Continue with Apple'
  • Under Apple ID pop-up window Select 'Share My Email' and Continue
  • Check your Profile to to make sure your personal email is under the account

Please take these steps if you were logging into Kickstarter using Apple ID and we will be sending beta access invitations as soon as possible.
