Our team is working non-stop to get everything ready so that we can deliver keys to our Founders. We are excited to get these invitations out tomorrow and to give our wave 1 beta Founders Friday through Sunday to get in early before Steam Next Fest.

Wave 1 access also means you're able to continue playing after Steam Next Fest ends and continue beta testing into March (we are estimating the second week of March, date not final).

You'll also be in all future testing phases, which includes first hands-on with our upcoming third faction.

We're a small team and this is a big project (it's safe to say our final turnout far exceeded our initial expectations!), so please bear with us as we are doing our best. While we'd love to snap our fingers and just let everyone in now, we have necessary steps to take first to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Thank you so much for your support.

Would be cool to just be able to toy around even if I fully understand that macOS compatibility isn't prioritised at this point.

EDIT: I know there's no official support but I have never tried gaming on macbook before. Is there a way to run it in some sort of emulator or something is what I'm asking for.

We are looking at GeForce Now support, which should be a good option for many Mac users.

curious when we might be able to play team vs team games with buddies instead of just vs ai? obviously 1v1 is probably the main focus for competitive, but games w friends is always fun
Our 3v3 mode will be introduced after we release the game to Steam Early Access (this summer, if you're in the northern hemisphere)... Read more

Our player community was overall very positive about how we approached F2P with StarCraft II, and we plan to use that as our starting point. We don't plan to introduce P2W microtransactions, or any mechanics that create artificial annoyances or limit playtime. Our goal is to give players ways to pay for more of the content they enjoy, such as campaign chapters for Story or more Heroes for our Hero-driven multiplayer modes, as well as cosmetics for those who want them.

Otherwise, the core 1v1 experience will be free, which we feel is great for the health of the community (to increase the player pool for matchmaking, for example) and to make our game accessible and welcoming to more players than past RTS games.

We plan to support GeForce Now, if all goes well, which should be a good solution for Mac users.

We are going to be inviting Kickstarter backers with wave 1 beta access soon after the conclusion of the Kickstarter campaign (which ends in less than 24 hours).

A 7x7x7 clear acrylic display cube would fit the statue. It's pretty fragile, so keeping it safe from being sat on is a good idea.

Maybe slap it onto a ...

As the final grains of sand slip through the hourglass, we're down to the last 24 hours of the Stormgate Kickstarter campaign. It's been an unbelievable journey filled with excitement, anticipation, and overwhelming support from all of you. Now, as we enter the home stretch, and with our public debut coming this February 5 during Steam Next Fest, we have a small, but special announcement to make this moment a little extra memorable.

The Stormgate Collector's Edition: Now with DOUBLE the Enamel Pins

To show our appreciation to our Kickstarter backers, we're excited to announce an upgrade to the Collector's Edition rewards. We're doubling the total number of exclusive enamel pins from 3 to 6! That's right – even more unique coll... Read more

We're livestreaming some recent gameplay in anticipation of Next Fest from Feb 5-12.

This Steam Next Fest open beta playtest features two main game modes:
- 3P Co-op vs. AI mode featuring two playable Heroes (Blockade and Maloc)
- Competitive 1v1 (no Heroes)

Custom lobbies are also available for trying different maps.

Stormgate puts you in command of mighty armies fighting for survival in a new science fantasy universe. This playtest build includes two factions with a third faction coming to a future playtest in the months ahead, before the game's scheduled mid-year Early Access launch.

GLHF (Good luck, have fun!)

Hey man, thanks for the reply, appreciate the clarification. I haven't looked too deeply into this game aside from a few headlines here and there, but this gets me interested.

You're welcome! You can check out where we're at so far for free next week during Steam Next Fest (Feb 5-12). If you don't like PvP, I recommend you check out our 3P co-op vs. AI mode. We won't have any campaign content in the public Steam Next Fest beta build, but the team is working on it!

As someone who loved SC1/2 campaigns and really just wants more SC story content, this is the biggest turnoff I've read yet

Frost Giant guy here--the above is incorrect. While we love competitive players, our game is absolutely aimed squarely at players who crave new RTS campaign/story content. We plan to tell an ongoing story with new campaign chapters released several times a year. Campaign is one of our main game pillars, alongside Co-op, Competitive, and Custom Games (our powerful new RTS editor for maps, mods, and custom games will be released as part of the client).

I think the problem with these games is really I can’t imagine anything ever touching StarCraft 2 quality. It’s like a giant mic drop on the genre

Our team takes it as a huge compliment that the number one game people compare Stormgate to is... the last game many of our core team members worked on, StarCraft 2. We love it too and we hope people continue playing SC2 forever. It's definitely an interesting position to be in when you're competing with your own last project!

That said, we weren't ready to stop making RTS games and we want to continue giving the RTS community new things to play--new units, new heroes, new stories, new game modes, a new editor, etc. Our commitment to RTS and our passion for developing RTS games is why we broke off from Blizzard and formed a new studio. Players have been waiting long enough.

Yes--it'll absolutely take us a long time to match what was achieved with SC2--Wings of Liberty alone was in development for 7 years, let alone what went into HOTS and LOTV. That said, we've built an incredible foundation for the future of RTS with our SnowPlay technology and we're excited about...

The leap forward coming from our SnowPlay tech may be of interest to you? We're 3x as responsive as SC2 as measured by tick rate/Hz (most RTS games are 8-tick, SC2 is considered best-in-class at 16-tick, Stormgate is 64-tick). For many, what makes an RTS fun to play is how responsive it is, where it feels snappy and satisfying to control your units.

Our tech allows us to also do things like implement Rollback--something that's done wonders for online fighting games.

Check out what we've been up to during Steam Next Fest--we're opening up access to our beta (1v1 and 3P co-op vs. AI) so that people can experience it for themselves.

I saw a preview video about this game where they said that the third faction was going to be anime waifus and I legit couldn't tell if the guy was doing a bit or not.

It's a just a running joke.

Anime cat girls will be our fourth faction, not our third.

What if the two fiends spawn with full white health if you split but spawn without white health if you don't? I think that could get us to that 10-20% advantage.

yep, something like that!
