This is the current description from our options menu:

Smart Attack
A method for issuing unit orders without having to select attack or move directly.

Hold: Holding down right-click will command units to follow the mouse and mouse-up will automatically attack. Left-clicking during the hold will cancel the auto-attack.

Right with Left Click: Left-clicking while holding right-click will issue an attack command.

(You can then choose from None, Hold, or Right with Left Click)

For those of you who enjoy the customization options presented by our more advanced progression Gear system, check out some of the fun unlockables Kastiel can offer. (Did you know that unlocked Gear can be used by your other Heroes as well?):

Mass Production: Mech units cost 30% less, Bio units cost 10% more. Units with both tags split the difference.

Maximum Control: After capturing a Creep camp, spawn starting units for all allies.

Resilient Defenses: All units gain +25% Health and cost +1 Supply 

When we increase the level cap for Heroes, all Heroes including Kastiel will be able to unlock even more Gear options for this system. We hope Celestial players enjoy what Kastiel brings to the battlefield!

(I believe this to be the case, but please note that I’m not a designer and details may have changed.)

Mass Production is open to any Hero and I believe is placed in the level 11 “Socket 1” slot. Maximum Control and Resilient Defenses are Celestial only. I’m not sure, but I believe those are options for the second socket.

0.1.0 is internally codenamed Hunter in case that helps.

Uhh what exactly does this mean?

It means you will be able to attack move and move with just the mouse vs having to choose just one, for easier one-handed play.

I thought performance issues occur even under 200 supplies?

This is just one change we’re making alongside all the other work going into improving performance.

Yeah, this should read “Machine Lab cost decreased from 100/100 to 100/50.” The update takes a few minutes to publish.

Hello Stormgaters,

Before we begin, we want to let you know that some of the biggest upgrades we’ve been working on will be coming in future updates. For example, you won’t see major progress on our campaign missions in this update, but work is happening behind the scenes and includes things like updated dialogue and facial animations for our in-engine cutscenes. You may notice some light testing of these facial animations in this build if you decide to revisit those early campaign missions, but most of the work is yet to be done, and we don’t expect our campaign mission improvements to be ready for prime time until 2025.

We haven't forgotten--we still plan to add social features to Stormgate beyond the baseline Steam friends functionality. However, our current top priority is to improve the core game experience (including art, audio, performance, balance, etc.) guided by community feedback. We're excited to roll out those new social features, but they will come further down the line.

Additionally, we believe that offering a variety of fun multiplayer game modes, including an approachable competitive 3v3 mode (we're calling it Team Mayhem), co-op campaign, 3-player co-op missions, and any fun multiplayer custom games the community cooks up using our editor, will all help give friends lots of ways to enjoy the game together.

But a real open communication on balance, with hesitations, options, known issues etc, in a very fluid and graphic display would be excellent, and would create some great nerdy traction

Ofc it would attract some annoying extremists but you cant avoid it and and i bet a dominant margin of balanced ppl would thrive on it, it's such an interesting topic, and deeply connected to the gameplay hence the real spirit of the game

Have you been reading monk's balance commentary? I don't think it's very common for a game team to reveal that level of insight into their balance changes with each patch. Look out for the balance commentary alongside the standard patch notes for this update too. He is extremely busy working on the game and I appreciate the time he takes to write these up for the community.

As we look towards our first content update coming this week, we have a few new features to announce.
