As I said, EU4 was never ported to the standalone launcher. Does it run from the Steam PLAY button okay?

Is this just in one particular galaxy Or also in any new one you might start as a test?

Has it always happened for you, or it used to be okay up to some point?

Any mods involved?

Do CK2, EU4 and HOI4 work okay or also have this issue?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

We don't move threads into Bug Reports, because when you post a new one there there's a form the QA team need you to fill out for more details.

You must have run the launcher from the desktop shortcut, which is a standalone mode for users who do not want to run Steam. EU4 was never ported to that platform.

You need to run the game from the Steam PLAY button instead, as before.

All the best!

Unlikely, hard to see how. Either you are still installing mods, or this is a game bug.

It has significance, but is not decisive evidence in its own right.

You raised a theory that the game engine is at fault so I'm assuming you want that investigated, that's what we're doing now. As I say it seems unlikely as if that were the issue every user would get this problem, AND you say you did not get the problem using the identical game and engine versions previously. The game edition in the launcher is a non-Steam edition, it can't run the Steam one. You'd need to do a new install in the launcher in a different location.

Can you do a test install of the game on any other computer you have access to, and test this there? That way you can decisively determine if this is indeed an issue confined to this machine or not.

In the game please go into Options, Display. Make sure Vsync is ON and set frame rate limit to, say, 60.

If that doesn't help Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

If there are no mods in use in this galaxy, attach here the problem save for others to test on their systems. Thanks.

Ah, so clearly some local problem then, something has changed in your system to cause this for you. Quite what I do not know, we've seen no clues to point to ny particular area of Windows or hardware!

I did play Stella soon after release but simply no time now; I am supporting something like 30-40 games now!

By all means attach an affected save file here for me or others to test out.

LoiteringAround said: No other game I've played recently has had issues like this and for most of the hundreds of hours I have, its has been problem free. It's frustrating, I don't understand what triggered it.
Do you know when it last worked okay for you? If so you can try reverting to the game patch that was current at that time to see if it still runs well ... Read more

Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to Properties, Location. It'll say if it's held local or OneDrive there.

just_some_regular_guy said: Well "strictly speaking" there is nowhere an information that this game only runs on intel chips,... I understand "minimum requirement" and "recommended requirement" not as an exclusion for everything else.
The actual intent is that anything not covered by them is unsupported. Otherwise how would we document supported vs unsupported hardware in the form Steam give us to do so?

The bottom line is none of our games have been ported to native M1 code so we are dependent on Apple's Rosetta Intel emulation. It may be that newer versi... Read more

Is it possible yopu are loading a save from an older version into the current version? If so that would explain it, you need to revert to the older game version in the Steam Betas tab for this game.

I think what you are getting at with those screenshots is the fps are lower when there's a lot of stuff on the screen, is that right?

LoiteringAround said: I have noticed and remembered that Stellaris sometimes does not start with the right resolution, sometimes it will start in 4k and I have to restart the game. This was happening before the issue and it happened when I was going through these steps.
This however I don't understand. The game should read the settings.txt file and use that resolution, and that's that.

You are in a game year more than 2,000 years after the game ends ... ? If that's really the case you are WAY outside the design parameters of the game.

By all means report it in Bug Reports but I frankly doubt it will be looked at much, sorry!

American footballguy said: I've had consistent problems with my Xbox Game Pass version of CK3 and have all DLC and no mods. Every time I play the game for around 10-15 minutes my entire computer will freeze up and ck3 will crash while everything else remains fine. This has only started after playing the new Canaries. Any help appreciated
In the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?
