I guess it would be the 1.5 patch, rather than the RC expansion, that did that.

If you are sure you have the syntax right, you'll need to report that as a bug - there's nothing we here in tech support can do to fix that.

As I posted in your other thread, it is not Paradox doing this, it is Steam or their moderators. There is nothing we in Paradox technical support or the Ascension support folks can do about this.

Please have Silva contact the Steam link he'll have, to appeal the removal. If that doesn't work out he needs to lodge another support ticket and Paradox management will look into it.

That looks pretty ominous actually, illegal instruction is a bad one! Essentially I think you either have a corrupted install, or your Rosetta version is not coping with this game.

What I'd suggest is a full clean reinstall of the game:

- move any valued save games elsewhere; they are under
~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/{large number}/
- "uninstall" in Steam-Surviving Mars
- manually delete both the ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Surviving Mars AND ~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars/ folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam SM or Application Support SM locations, before installing again.

From where that log stops it's another video issue. Please try this:

- uninstall your nVidia driver and all nVidia software
- reboot
- install Feb 2022:
www.nvidia.com

The log stops very quickly, just before it normally lists the video information so I guess that's the problem.

in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

The exceptions log info is entirely in the Apple video driver for your AMD graphics system. Which is odd because your driver is up to date and your hardware is supported.

Does it also happen in windowed display mode? What if you reduce video quality settings?

Are you still on the 1.4.4 patch? If so you need to disable Royal Court before it will run, as RC requires 1.5 .

I see, so it is something inside this laptop. If it's really not the Linux firewall in it, I'm not sure what else it could be!

If you make a new Linux user on it and login as that, do you get the same problem?

That really looks like a Windows or MS store/Xbox app issue, I have to say. But let's see what we can do if anything.

You see that error before seeing our launcher? Or after it?

Just so you know, none of our games have been ported to native M1 code, so rely on Apple's Rosetta emulation. In fact technically speaking the M1 is not supported hardware for our games.

I'm not clear on what nature of display issues you are seeing, but all you can really do is test different resolutions and display modes, hopefully you'll find one that's acceptable!

Not at all a known issue. Has it always happened since you've had the game? Or only since when?

Any mods involved?

Does the 1.33 beta help?


Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Check that the Steam overlay is enabled, and Steam Cloud Sync is enabled.
