Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Thanks for trying that, shame it didn’t work!

I don’t really have anything else to suggest in this unique situation; I’m sure you don’t want to buy that DLC just to get past this!

I can't read .dmp files here (only the devs in Ascension can), but that log file shows nothing, I'm afraid.

Are these crashes repeatable from a particular saved game? Or if you load the save after a crash you can play on?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

As it referenced modding I was hoping our good friend @ChoGGi_2 would chime in!

Failing that, perhaps @AG_MarkPittam can comment?

First let's fix your launcher problem.

remove the following files and folders:

  • ~/.paradoxlauncher
  • ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2
  • ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcherpath

Download the Linux installer package from here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1AdfRZdj032sLEU6p9N__-jZ8M5zRl_BP

Unpack the file you just downloaded and place the three files in the Steam folder for the game you're having issues with. If asked if you want to replace already existing files click "yes" - that's a sign you are in the right place!

Then run the game from the Steam PLAY button, to install the ... Read more

If you delete this file mentioned in that error log, does that help?

No clear clue in there. Can we get a new error.log since removing the mods please?

After 10 minutes of play 50C
Is that just CPU temps? Because you say your GPU fan is going fast, which means it would likely be over 80c

In the launcher, disable Vsync and set the frame rate cap to 60 - does that help?

What actual temperatures are you seeing for CPU and GPU while playing?

After the restart can you play on for another two hours? Or it's shorter then?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

That's odd one, that's for sure. Of course they are not going to go back and change 3.0.4 to fix this, if that's what it requires.

When you reverted did you delete the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folder, or at least the cache folders in it?

Can you check if the frame rate cap is effective? What fps are you seeing when set up like that?

I see mod errors in that log. Do you still bet this in a new campaign started with no mods at all in use?

Is it crashing at load time, when starting a new game, or while playing?

After a crash can you start it right up again?

There was no change to the game 2 days after the Royal Court patch came out, so I guess this was some local issue.

If you start a new test campaign does this still happen there?

Did you do the clean reinstall mentioned above?

If so, can you provide the files I asked for please?
