Sorry about that, a bit of a glitch back here I think.

Please try again now!

The Paradox launcher does not install the game, so does not have a verify. That would have to be in the installer app which is the Xbox or MS Store app.

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless. THEN go here:

Okay, well for the future you can just move the save files elsewhere before doing a clean reinstall, then test the game before moving them back - no need to delete them if they are not the problem!

You said in post #4 that the problem was solved, but now you're saying it is still crashing, or crashing again? Is that right?

The redoubtable Choggi has said he'll look into your save when he gets time. In the past he's generally been able to fix any such problems.

Why this keeps happening to you,sas you say it does, but not to everyone all the time is a mystery,I have to say.

Given there's just been a new patch you could try starting a new colony now?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Does that help?

Did you mean to post this in Bug Reports, perhaps?

That tab in the PDX client is pretty unreliable. If you launch the game there and look in the DLC tab of launcher v2, is it there okay?

It is normal that changing the settings in the game overrides a previous setting chosen in the launcher.

Did your clean reinstall include making sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again?

If so DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Are you 100% sure you did this step? That really should have done it.

Troy003 said: @AndrewT Do you know how much of an impact the on_action events impact performance? I suspect that these on_action events are what are responsible for a lot of the game lag we feel (in addition to pops), but I am not entirely certain how I would determine that.
I do not, I am sorry! I am not in the development team for this (or any) game, I just do tech support.

Lost as in you cannot find or see their files anywhere? Or you can see them but they won't load?

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless.

That will probably fix it all by itself.

Have you tried restarting Steam? Sometimes Steam doesn't "understand" that you've got a subscription and needs a refresh.

If that doesn't work please try and delete these two folders and restart the game:

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\GameSpark
Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\cache

I've raised this with Paradox to bring up with Ascension.

I'll update the threads when there's any news.

Unfortunately the PDX client you are using can be somewhat temperamental.

Try running it as the Windows Admin user - does that help?
