Has this game ever run for you? Or never yet?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log .

That error is caused by bad or missing Microsoft DLLs.

you may feel you've done this already but go through this list carefully and tell me what happens with each one of these 6 installers, please:

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) from...

Are you and your friends all on the Steam edition? or mixed Steam/MS Store editions perhaps?

No Paradox game has a native M1 edition, as yet anyway. In general they run fine under the Rosetta emulation, with some graphical issues in some games - mostly Unity ones IIRC (which CK3 is not).

Is this while starting a new MP game? Or only after some play sessions, you can't rejoin the game or something?

If the latter I have seen other reports like that. That pretty much has to be a bug I think. Sorry about that!

Please try opting into the beta of the next patch 1.3.2 , now in the Steam betas tab for the game.

If that doesn not help, please report that in the 1.3.2 beta support forum, thanks!

The launcher works fine in general, but like any other app can have issues in some situations.

That said we get very very few issues reported on the Mac version of it. The most common is the MacOS permissions dialog. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Then select the Privacy tab. Scroll down to files and folder in the left column. You’ll see a list of apps and the folders they need access to. Check the box to give access.

Allow accessibility apps to ...

Why can you not post a thread there? What happens when you hit the Report Issue button?

I'd hold off on that for the time being, see if the situation develops or changes. If you have a gradually failing piece of hardware, it may not be until it completely fails that it becomes obvious what the problem part is.

I agree, although it's not something I've seen other reports of. Can he contact some form of Windows support?

We should try a clean reinstall of Steam and game.

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- exit the Steam app entirely
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folders
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

Good luck with that!

This has helped at least one affected user. Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

Palaki said: Also happens in borderless and windowed display. Every speed, stutters are bound to the daily ticks. faster speed = faster stutter. Slower speed = slower stutter.
CPU is slightly OC, but system runs well overall and in every other game. Temps are fine, too.
Can we test with no OCing implemented at all please?

And can you please run up Task Manager and go into Performance. When this is happening is there CPU, GPU, Memory, Disk and/or I/O usage that moves in time with the stutters/ticks?

Not really, sorry, it's a case of trial and error.

The person who has this problem, does he have access to a second machine in the same network? If so does it also see this issue?

Otherwise what if he moves his main machine to another network (if possible!)?

This is to determine if the issue is in his machine or his network.

The problem is fixed here now. If you still see it, exit and restart Steam.

Do any of the players have an ASUS machine? If so they probably have an MP "helper" app (whose name we don't disclose here) that causes that problem.
