Is it just in one particular campaign/galaxy, or also any new one you might start as a test?

Does it matter who is host?

Cap Awesome said: It also can't be our connection as we are geographically very close
FYI that is not relevant, and all MP goes via either the Steam or Paradox MP servers. Which brings up a point - have you tried all opting into the stellaris_test game beta, which uses the PDX servers?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

We are aware of an issue where some customers can't login/stay signed in with their Paradox account which then results in being unable to play multiplayer. We released an update early on the 22nd of September that we hoped would solve it (you can read more here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/server-update-notification-sept-22.1423886/) but it seems that wasn't the case >.

Sorry about that!

We now think this is an issue with dual CPU systems.
Processor: AMD A6 PRO-7400B R5, 6 Compute Cores 2C+4G (2 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
CPU or GPU slightly below the minimum requirements should not cause a crash like this. If that is confirmed there will be a hotfix soon to address that problem.

Sorry about that!

In the meantime you can revert the game to version 1.03 in the Steam Betas tab for the game, which does not have that problem.

Not sure why you couldn't post in Bug Reports? It has the same posting rights as here ...

Anyway I haven't seen other reports of this. Go to Documents/paradox/ck3. and delete the folders shadercache, terraincache and cache , so the game recreates them - any better?

Sorry, I'm having trouble seeing any cause for your problem in these files, very strange. If there are any USB devices like game controllers or joysticks plugged in, try removing those.

If that doesn't help, please download and run the free utility Speccy. Sent its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

Still some worrying errors in that log, unfortunately. If you don't mind, can we see how this goes after the 1.2 game patch? While I don't have a date for it I am sure it worn't be long; say in Oct rather than Nov I'm pretty sure.

Lots of errors in there, but no solid trigger for crashing that I can see.
Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY... Read more

Is this just in one particular campaign then? Perhaps one where someone owns a large chunk of the map, and there are armies everywhere?

If so i's probably the same as this report:

Constant stutter every 1.5 second

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

usually the game is stable but have had about 3 crashes in just under 100 hours of play, i notice that the music breaks up just before a crash
Are they reproducible from a given save game, or random?

If it's reproducible reliably from a given save file, it's one for QA in the Bug Reports forum - there's nothing we can do here to fix or work around it, sorry.

Once you've reported it there put that campaign aside, and try it as you see new game patches come out.

Sorry for that problem!

That's an odd one .. some of the Stellaris crashes are in LightFX.dll (which I've not seen before) and some in the Windows module ntdll.dll . Not sure what to make of that to be honest!

Exit the Steam app entirely and run stellaris.exe by itself. Is there any error when it fails now?
